August 2024A+. Exquisite home and wonderful hosts
This is exactly what we hoped Third Home could provide: access to unique and special experiences. (Not to mention, wonderful hosts.) This home, located in the top of a mountain, is beautifully appointed and heavenly. We swam everyday. Every chance we could, we were outside either having a glass of wine on the couches looking at the view or having our meals on the terrace dining table over looking the views. The vantage point gave you a totally different experience of wine country, oh, and the birds soar below you. We decided to just relax at the house and listen to Tanya’s Spotify chill mix. The Sonos sound system is fantastic! The professional chef’s kitchen is to die for. One note is the private road up to the house is steep and narrow. We never had to back up for another car, but that would have been a little scary. Just something to keep in mind. We’ll be going back for sure. This is just so special. ”

October 2023Lovely home
We enjoyed our stay at this property. The hosts are very responsive and helpful, the property is in a beautiful, private setting, and the home is quite nice, with a number of amenities — thus my rating, as I think most people would enjoy staying at this property. The kitchen is large and better equipped than the usual vacation home, so if you wanted to stay in some nights and cook, you could definitely do that here (there is no grocery delivery, but you can pick up an order at Whole Foods/grocery store on the way there). For us, the road up and down the mountain to get to the house was a drawback, as we were in town for various wine tastings, dinners, etc., and so were doing a lot of coming and going. If we had been staying up at the house most of the time, it would have been less of an issue. This is a gated, private road with 1 3/4 miles of blind turns, often with a drop off on one side (no guard rail). In most places it is a one lane road. Although there are small pull offs along the way to allow cars to pass, you just have to hope that you are close to one when you meet another car and also hope you see each other in time, given the blind turns. There are no lights at night and frequent deer jumping into the road. You need to drive very slowly and it is still stressful. We met other cars/trucks and experienced deer in the road every day. We were limp with relief whenever we finally made it off the road. Once you make it down, though, you are within a reasonable drive of countless wineries and restaurants. I would not suggest showing up for the first time in the dark, however. The only other pointer I would give other guests is to check with the hosts re availability of certain amenities if you have your heart set on something (e.g., the pool is not heated, and the indoor and outside fireplaces, smoker, and pizza oven were off limits when we were there due to risk of fire — not sure if that varies by season and it did not negatively impact our stay).”
