The house is in a quiet gated community. It sits right on the beach and was perfect for morning strolls, sea glass hunting and evening sunsets around the firepit. The location near the North end of the island was perfect for Deception Pass hiking. We could literally walk into the park with no need to drive a car and look for parking. It was also a great location for boat outings from Anacortes. The house is beautifully designed and well furnished with everything needed. The owners made sure that we had plenty of paper products and basic kitchen essentials for our stay. Jim and Katrina were also easy to work with, answering all of our questions before arrival and during our stay. Their recommendation to use Chef Stefan for the first couple of days was spot on. He prepared 5 fabulous meals for us over our first two days, including a very fun and tasty welcome dinner where we made our own pizza in their brick oven. It is a great house for large groups, if you don’t mind sharing bathrooms. The house could have slept much more than our 13, but there are just 4 bathrooms with a shower or tub.
