This home is a VERY short walk to the most incredible beach in the Caribbean. A mile of pink sand beach, sheltered from the wind due to its cove-like shape and position on the island. We visited the first week of March and saw maybe five other people on the beach. Further up the coast is Receiver's Beach, with miles of shallow water and translucent jellyfish. Fun day trips are to the incredible sapphire blue hole for cliff jumping, and a ferry to Spanish Wells Island. Be aware this is a very rustic island - brief, daily power outages and there were more tire repair shops than grocery stores. Our party got two flat tires, within an hour of each other (but renting a car is a must). The home was well stocked with kitchen appliances, which was essential as we did a lot of cooking since restaurant options were limited (but delicious! We ate at the same two places all week). The house manager was fantastic and responded quickly to the small hiccups we had with the house during our stay. We loved feeding the cats in the morning! If you are a remote beach lover, this is a fabulous destination. If you prefer a high end island resort life with gourmet cuisine, this is not the place for you.
