August 2017Marriott village near Disneyland
We spent a lovely week at this marriott resort. The villa we stayed in is perfect for 4, I would not be very comfortable if we wore 6. Marriott team is very efficient in contacting you previous to the stay, and I suppose if we wore 6, bigger existing villas would be made available. A 40 minutes’ drive from the touristic center of Paris, and a 5 minutes’ drive from Disney parks and the la “Vallee Village” outlet and adjacent huge shopping center with Auchan hypermarket, with undreds of stores, that I’m sure make very happy the enormous number of Arab guests that come to Marriott village this time of the year. Despite being August, the weather was cloudy and fresh most of our days, so it was great to have the indoor heated pool available. There is an impressive number of bikes for hire at this Marriott, but I found them very overpriced, a 4 hour rental being over 20 euros. We booked a Paris tour with the very friendly concierge, but I would only recommend it if you will not have a car. If you do, for the boat trip in the River (a must do), you can buy the tickets on the spot, and for the Eifel tour, try preorder them. Having to go to a Disney hotel to take the coach and then back from there, and all the waiting in the group tour, you will feel better to go by yourself and buy a book to replace the audio guide in the coach… The guides you go with, are only there to provide basic info. and not much more. Regarding the Disney parks in August, you must be expecting the queues but it still overwhelms you to find so many people going in the same direction. Any rides over 1 hour wait is a bit despairing. Overall, the villas and the service in Marriott are great, as well as the grounds and the region. The location is great for active rest and at a good distance from Paris making this amazingly beautiful and interesting city accessible. Thank you thirdhome for the exchange program with Marriott resorts.”

This was a terrific home-away-from home property with all the necessary amenities for a family to enjoy a stay in France. A short drive from Paris and next door to Disneyland - the best of both worlds. ”
