Travel away from it all and find yourself in one of the most beautiful and majestic towns Mexico has to offer. A delightful town for adventuring, the cool air and shade from white stucco houses make it a pleasure to tour the city. Designated, “Magic Town,” guests can find everything from authentic restaurants and markets, to golf courses that offer relaxation and allow you to make the most of your stay.

This gorgeous five bedroom, three bathroom, 1,600 squarefoot villa rests on the golf course of the renowned Avandaro Golf Club. The grounds themselves have witnessed cultural and social sporting events, so they are manicured and pristine. With a large, wrap-around patio and infinity pool, the villa has a perfect view from every angle, of the sprawling, green course.

Inside of the home, it is light and airy with plenty of windows allowing in natural light and a cool breeze. The living area is cozy with white couches facing a fireplace and a 55” TV screen with Netflix. It is a great area to relax with a glass of wine and good company at the end of your day.

The Villa’s kitchen is stocked with stainless steel appliances ready for any chef’s needs. After preparing a delicious meal with fresh ingredients from the Artesanias Market or Zocala, there is plenty of space, both indoors and out, for guests to sit down and savor the meal.

When it is time for guests to get a night of peaceful sleep or a quick, afternoon siesta, there is plenty of space for up to 10 people. The master bedroom is fit with a king size bed that rests on a wooden, raised-platform frame. The room is open with a vaulted, wood ceiling and simple, minimalist style. Inside the first guest bedroom, there is a queen size bed. Above the bed, is a piece of beautiful, modern art, and at the foot of the bed is a colorful, blanket. The remaining three bedrooms are fit with double, twin size beds and warm colors.

Casa el Descanso is a great place to relax by the pool and watch the sun move across the sky. The heart of Valle de Bravo is just 20 minutes by car, and for longer excursions Mexico City is only an hour-and-a-half away. There are tons of excellent restaurants and bars to be discovered in the Magic Town. Traditional cuisine for this region uses ingredients such as rainbow trout, turkey in mole sauce, pit-cooked mutton, shredded beef, and roasted artichokes. Local fruit gets turned into scrumptious sherbets, preserves and liqueurs. Given the vast array of typical Mexican food available here, going to a fast-food stand would really be a sin. Can’t you just imagine the beautiful plates you will soon be devouring?

Local artisans excel in handcrafts like pottery, high-fired ceramics and weaving. Make your way to their stands and be sure to not miss out on their masterfully worked pieces in wrought iron including lamps, chandeliers and many more. Basketry is another long-established local artisan tradition, and you'll see evidence of high-quality craftsmanship all over town. Valle is made for walking, so wear comfortable shoes and a hat for the sun. Evenings are often chilly, so don’t forget your sweater!
