Chalet Piccolo Sogno
The extensive ski resort of Cervinia/Valtournenche is situated in Italy’s scenic Aosta Valley.
With extensions over the border into Zermatt, Switzerland, and known as the ‘Queen of the Snow’, this vast snowy area begins at 1,524m in Valtournenche, embraces Breuil-Cervinia at 2050m and rises up to Plateau Rosa at 3,488m, the 4,000-metre peak of Piccolo Cervino (Klein Matterhorn) and climbs to the 4,478m peak of the Matterhorn.
As this region is so high, we are generally blessed with longer seasons that most resorts in the Alps and they generally run from the end of November though to the end of April.
Piccolo Sogno is a gorgeous & homely chalet with breathtaking views. The chalet is very well equipped and so relaxing that you will not feel the need to go out to eat after a hard day's skiing. It features open-plan living with a modern kitchen and fireplace and large French doors onto a balcony with fantastic views.
The chalet can ideally accommodate 4 couples (8) adults or 3 couples and up to 4 children. The sleeping accommodation comprises of 4 double bedrooms and three bathrooms described as follows:
The loft - a double bedroom with an en-suit bathroom; a double room which has a double bunk bed, ideal for children, or a couple and two further double bedrooms.
There are 2 more bathrooms, one of which has a large shower/steam room.
There is a fully equipped laundry and a separate playroom for the children which can also be used for accommodating a nanny/child minder.
The chalet also benefits from a steam room.
The chalet is equipped with 2 televisions and 2 DVD players, a video machine and a hi-fi system; it also has an IPod Bose docking system.
There is a separate outdoor room for skis and storage.
Bakery and deli's as well as restaurants are on your doorstep as are the ski slopes.
Cervinia's biggest asset is altitude. At 2050m, with slopes rising to 3883m, it is one of Europe's most snow-sure resorts, set against a superb glacial backdrop. It's a place where long snow runs right down to village level are virtually guaranteed from the beginning of December until early May.
Summer skiing continues on the glacier throughout the year. Seven lifts serve 21km of prepared piste through out summer with an enormous out-of-season vertical drop of 1000m in the right conditions.

Great chalet. Wonderful house
We had an awesome stay at Piccolo Sogno. My two boys, my wife and I stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed everything. The house is located down a staircase from the parking, which results in complet sound insulation and we didn’t hear one vehicle. The views were absolutely spectacular. Waking up in the morning to see the sun bathed mountain peaks was inspirational. And the drive to the ski lifts was short and Parking was plentiful. We never parked more than 20 meters from the lift. The skiing was incredible. Such a huge area. We really enjoyed Valtournenche and Cervinia. Twice we skied over to Zermatt. The second time, we parked at Cervinia and skies on to Zermatt from there so we had more time to ski and less tome needed to ski commute. I definitely recommend this Chalet if you have the chance to stay. ”
A charming and comfortable chalet in a peaceful spot
We had a lovely time at Piccolo Sogno. The chalet was cosy and warm, well-equipped, and so quiet and peaceful. We particularly loved relaxing in front of the large wood-burning stove in the evening after a long day's skiing. Philip, the owner, provided us with detailed recommendations for the area and was very helpful. ”
