Description

Ortakent is a peaceful town and one of the oldest human settlements in the Bodrum area, a 10 min walk from the villa along a valley with citrus groves, olive, mandarin and fig trees. The seaside town of Ortakent Yahsi is 900 mts. from the villa, a favourite with the locals with its wide sandy beaches and good restaurants. The water is so clean (“Blue Flag”) and wind conditions so fantastic that it got a large sailing area. The Greek island of Kos is within sight. Boats start to the Greek islands of Kos, Rhodos, Simi, also the magnificent “Blue Voyages”. Bodrum or ancient Halicarnassus, the St. Tropez of Turkey, is easily reached (7 km). It features a magnificent Castle, the Myndus Gate, the Ottoman Shipyard Tower and a Museum of Underwater Archeology. It hosts several cultural festivals - notably the Ballet Festival in August, pop concerts at the Castle or in the 2000 year Amphitheatre. It features the biggest open air disco in Europe with a capacity of 4000 people.

This is a newly-built unique traditional luxurious Bodrum stone house, ready since June 08, with 50 cm thick walls, cool in summer, warm in winter. It is an award winning property designed by artists (incl. the beds, dinner table, lights, etc.). The house is 315m2 (3.400 sq feet) on 1 acre of land with 3 bedrooms (sleeps 6). Inside and outside fireplace, 4 terraces, alarm, steam bath (sauna).

There is a large pool with infinity overflow and strong jet stream and pool seats. The kitchen is made with Siemens stainless steel appliances incl. deep fryer, espresso machine, microwave, fridge with ice cube/ice crusher. There is a washing and drying machine in the cellar. Wireless internet, full HD Samsung TV. Beautiful unspoiled sea and mountain views.

The Greece island of Kos is only 15 km from the property and can be seen. Guard and gardener. 5 hole academy golf course in 2 km distance, two 18 hole courses in 30 km. 900 mtrs (10 min walking) from the sandy beaches, windsurf, sailing, kite sailing, scuba diving, water skiing.

A GREAT HOUSE AND LOCATION

This house is superb in it's layout and in it's amenities. Three couples enjoyed the open porches, pool and awesome views of the water. The town is very close and the seafood restaurants are excellent. Once settled in, it was difficult to leave even for us explorers ! ”

Spectacular

This home far and away exceeded our expectations. It is very comfortably appointed and has outstanding views of the sea and sailboats below. Our every need was met and we were happily greeted by Mehmet who took his time to show us around the home and all of its features. Like the lovely fountain just outside the master bedroom. The village is a wonderful collaboration of medieval and artistic creativity to creat a dreamlike hideaway. The town below offers a charming place to stroll almond the seaside and take in the local delights. We could not have enjoyed ourselves more. Our only disappointment was we could not stay longer. This is on the list of places to see again. Thank you to our host Johan and to Mehmet for all their hospitality. Tamra Shadoan”

A "modern ancient" jewel on Turkey's Aegean coast.

I have been to Turkey many times to sightsee, but this trip was to relax for five days with my 16 year old daughter. The village was built recently, but was created to look like a medieval hilltop village. The village looks authentic, but the villas within them are modern, very aesthetically pleasing, and have absolutely lovely views. Besides the villa and immediate surrounds including a lovely garden area, the best part for us was that we could be in the middle of Bodrum--now a very busy city in 20 minutes drive, or out in one of the small fishing villages on the peninsula in 20 minutes in the other direction. It is perfectly positioned to please many tastes simultaneously. ”
