La Tuilerie is a large family house that lies is at the centre of Provence Paradise. Sitting at the heart of the property close to the stream that feeds into the mill wheel, this handsome building was the residence for the family authorized by King Louis XIII in 1621 to make roof tiles (or “tuiles”) and bricks.

Master bedroom with a king-size (2m/6ft wide) bed with en suite WC, bath and shower. A second bedroom with two double (1.4/4.5ft wide) beds with en suite WC and shower. A third bedroom has two twin (1m/3ft wide) beds plus a fourth bedroom with a king-size (2m/6ft wide) bed and two cots for children on the mezzanine level; 8-10 guests, Friday-to-Friday rental. · Outdoor pool and whirlpool (shared), with protected parking for two automobiles. Rental Price range according to the season.

All of our guests from the different properties in the Provence Paradise hamlet share the large, 7x10 metre pool with outdoor seating, plus family whirlpool (heated year-round) and summer kitchen – all of which are just a few steps away, down an old stone stairway nearby. We even have a Roman Aqueduct, which fed water to the property, next to the pool. Protected parking for two automobiles.

PLEASE NOTE Provence Paradise consists of a hamlet of six properties so the swimming pool does not have exclusive access but is shared between the guests.

France living

Charming house a quick 5-minute drive to downtown St. Remy (or a not-so-pretty 20 minute walk). William was a gracious host and quite frankly is the reason we gave the property 4 instead of 3-stars. He was friendly, welcoming and had a dinner waiting for us when we arrived (after midnight). Each morning he left croissants outside our door which was a very nice touch as well. Additionally, they had kindly filled our fridge with groceries, including gluten & dairy free items (per our request). We were also traveling with a 7-month old baby and they had a crib, high chair, changing pad and even a stroller available for our use. These touches made our arrival in France so much smoother and did not go unnoticed. We hired their house keeper for ~$30USD per hour to do some basic tidying up each day. However, the house was definitely not luxury accommodations... House was FILLED with "stuff" and house was a bit dark inside (which was okay given how hot it was when we visited). Piano looked great but clearly hadn't been tuned in years. Properly functioning A/C in the rooms was nice for hot nights. The "compound" has several rental properties that are very close to one often see the neighbors walking past to get to their car or the shared pool. Check out was before 9:30am which felt quite early, but we were able to organize accordingly. If you are sensitive to scents/smells, there are scented air fresheners in every room in the house. We removed them from the bedrooms as it was overwhelming to my wife but but without them she thought it smelled a bit stale ("like stale cigarettes and musty"). All in all we would be unlikely to rent this property in the future.”

A Provence Dream

We greatly enjoyed our stay at William’s lovely property in Saint Rémy. The house is very comfortable for three couples, the gardens lovely and William is a delight. The location is an easy walk to town where there are a number of great places to eat, the market is very enjoyable. We encourage others to take the opportunity to enjoy this great property.”
