Great place to learn Kiteboarding!

Great apartment, and within the same complex as the Real Kiteboarding center... In fact, I would call it a watersports resort, because there is a restaurant on site as well (and it was so busy they had to close kitchen early every night, to accommodate all the orders they had - so make sure you order early). The apartment was great, nicely decorated, spacious, and very clean! And the Kiteboarding training center is world-class, if you want to learn to kiteboard, this is the best place in the world to go! In fact, my second time here, and I'll be back again, when I'm ready for a set of Advanced Lessons!”

Great condo right on the bay side of the Outerbanks!

I came here to learn how to Kite-Board, and it was amazing! The apartment was spacious, nicely decorated, and very clean. Matt the owner of Watermen's Retreat and Real Kiteboarding couldn't have been nicer, and was so accommodating! I liked it so much, I'm going back again this summer! Can't wait to improve my kite-boarding skills! ”

Perfect stay at the beach

The condo was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed for the week!! The staff at Watermen's was beyond kind and helpful. The beach is just wonderful only a few people on the beach at the same time. The Lighthouse is Street side not Sound side if that could be changed it would certainly be FIVE stars. ”

Kite surfing heaven, amazing beaches and great condo!!

Watermen's retreat and REAL Watersports is the number 1 kiteboarding and surfing retailer, lesson center and destination in the world. I call it Disneyland for adults. I visited REAL Watersports 11 years ago and I had been waiting for my kids to get older so we could all enjoy the amazing facilities together as a family. I was so grateful to get a condo through 3rdhome. The Watermen's Retreat condos are only a few years old and they are all done with great kitchens, large bedrooms and decks overlooking the water and kite surfers. Each day we woke up, walked 50 feet to the restaurant, had breakfast and got ready for our kite surfing lessons! I took kite surfing lessons almost every morning and after a week I can kite! The sound is an amazing place to learn to kite surf. It is very warm and only a few feet deep. Having someone follow you around and give you instruction on a jet ski is amazing. My kids did a "custom camp" and went out on a jet ski each day with a fantastic instructor. They surfed behind the jet ski, learned to wake board, learned to fly a trainer kite and rode 4 miles downwind with their instructor. My kids had the time of their lives and so did I! The sound is wonderful for learning to kite surf, but there is a stunning beach across the street for perfect beach time and surfing. Thanks Watermen's and REAL! I hope we can come back next summer!”
