Wonderful Stay in NC Wine Country
We had a perfect stay at this home In NC wine country. This home is suited for 2 families or multi generational living as there are 2 separate living levels and one primary bedroom on the main level. The beds were comfortable and the furnishings, and linens were outstanding! I love the modern farmhouse feel of the home! The home is in a quiet setting on 400 rolling acres. The 2 longhorn cows loved the carrots that the host thoughtfully provided along with full fixings for us to make S'mores at the fire pit. The home was sparkling CLEAN including the outdoor living areas and the landscaping was professionally maintained. We loved sitting on the front porch drinking coffee listening to the river babbling. We took long walks and hikes along the river and up the hills on many trails on the property. While visiting The Dobson area we hiked to waterfalls at Stone Mountain, visited Mt Airy (Mayberry) and toured many wineries that were close by. We even attended an outdoor concert and had a wonderful dinner at Shelton Vineyards (highly recommended) Fantastic hosts with great communications! We hope to stay again- Maggie and Kenny Moyer (Topsail Island, NC) ”

A great stay , so much to do
The Dobson house is a unexpected surprise. First ,the house is very cozy with big comfy beds and warm sitting rooms to relax. What was a surprise is fun we had exploring the surrounding areas. Wether is was Mount Airy and the home of Andy Griffith or the cool vineyards or the awesome hikes up Stone Mountain, it was truly relaxing. The home is set on a beautiful farm with horned cows and we had a great time feeding them. The rolling river in the front of the property was a great place to do some fly fishing. Laina, let us take our sporting clay thrower and we had a blast shooting sporting clays over the corn field. Its one of those" diamonds in the rough” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back. Oh did i mention the farm was the set for the movie The Longest Ride. You will be entertained as you sit in the den while watching this cool rough but sweet movie that stars Clint Eastwood’s son Relax and enjoy all the Dobson Farm has to offer. Thanks Laina”

So beautiful, so much fun and soooo relaxing!
We spent the week between Christmas and New Years at the Mitchell River Estate. It was a truly wonderful family vacation. Laina is a very generous host and her home is the perfect balance of beauty and comfort. The expansive property is full of activities that keep you busy and help you detach and relax all at the same time. We had unseasonably warm weather and got to go fly fishing nearby (a must do). We visited wineries and hiked Stone Mountain. We explored the grounds on foot and by golf cart, fished in the pond, fed the cows carrots and watched them graze for hours, used the fire pit for smores and BBQing...and watched "The Longest Ride" cheering every time The Mitchell River house was shown in the movie :). We loved every moment, slept very well and hope to visit again. ”
