Nestled on 150 mountainside acres overlooking the Battenkill Valley, the century old West Mountain Inn has been welcoming travelers with warmth and hospitality for over 30 years. The Inn offers romantic, antique filled guest rooms, mountain views, lush gardens and farm fresh dining prepared with local, seasonal ingredients. Our historic barn and spacious, private grounds are also the perfect setting for elegant Vermont country weddings, retreats and specials events.
The experience of the inn is a special one. When you stay at the Inn you can enjoy a relaxing day without ever leaving our property. Sleep in and come downstairs in your slippers for a scrumptious country breakfast. Bring that book you’ve wanted to read for so long. Play a game of chess or backgammon on our enclosed porch. Share a drink around the fireplace or in our cozy tavern. Kick back in the adirondack chairs and take in the breathtaking mountain views.
Grab a trail map and take a hike, snow shoe or cross country ski on our 150 acres of woodland paths. Stroll through our gardens and visit our friendly alpacas. Let us set up a fly fishing lesson, or a canoe or kayak rental and spend the day on the Battenkill river. Take a bike ride along river road, watch the wildlife and coast through covered bridges. End the day with an exquisitely prepared fireside dinner in our romantic dining room
Enjoy all our relaxing common areas in the Main Inn – living room, dining rooms, tavern and game room. Each of the 14 romantic guest rooms has something unique to enchant. Each room has a private bath and is individually decorated with beautiful antiques. Our living room, tavern and game rooms provide lots of space to unwind, read, play games, sit by the fire, watch the birds or socialize with friends. Step out into our gardens, sit by the lily pond, visit the alpacas or sit back in the adirondack chairs and take in the views. Our wi-fi network is free and you can help yourself to coffee, tea and fresh baked cookies and pastries whenever you please.
