Description

Ferndale

Visit this beautiful hidden home located on the banks of the Kennebec River, surrounded by 19 acres of private, pristine woodlands. Ferndale is a place where you can surround yourself with nature and experience rare sightings of bald eagles, ospreys, inquisitive seals, and shy dear in a tranquil setting.

The recently refurbished 3,000 square foot house has kept the warmth of a genuine home. Featuring three bedrooms, the home can sleep up to eight guests.

The wood beams throughout the rooms keep the home's original character alive. In the living room, beautiful white couches are placed in front of the brick fireplace and television. This is a great space for members to gather together and relax. The chef in the family will love the big, open kitchen. It is fully equipped for anything you're looking to prepare!

The screened-in porch is the perfect spot to read a book. With ample comfortable seating, this is a great area on the property to unwind after a long day of exploring!

The master bedroom features a King-sized bed with surrounding windows and plenty of natural light to brighten up the room. The room also offers access to the back porch through glass sliding doors. The three guest rooms include a Queen sized bed, two Twin size beds, and a room that offers a pull-out couch.

Found at the end of a long private road, you will feel all of your stress disappear as you look forward to kayaking on the river, BBQs on the porch, or just absorbing a slower, gentler way of life.

Enjoy a stay at Ferndale, a nature lover's hideaway!

This is a beautiful home on a very secluded lot on a lake. The home is tastefully appointed, excellent kitchen facilities and the lake views are spectacular. Sunrise over the lake is very nice. Nice deck across the back of the home overlooking the lake. Maine Maritime Museum in nearby Phillipsburg is very interesting and well worth the time.”

Fabulous Ferndale

The owners of Ferndale were wonderful to work with; always quick responses to communications. The house is beautiful with a fully furnished kitchen of anything you would need should you choose to cook. Having coffee in the screened in porch in the mornings was awesome. From there you can watch the fishermen going to work, or maybe see a deer in the woods. The Kennebec River is a great view. There is great dining in the area and very interesting things to see and do.”

Ferndale

What a wonderful, wonderful week we had at Ferndale! Ree, the owner, was the best! She reached out to us with historical information on the home & the area, gave us great tips for places to dine, and was available to help. She had the house nicely labeled with helpful pointers. This home comes with the highest recommendation! Here are some comments from my girlfriends: Ferndale was a great getaway with spectacular water views. We enjoyed several visits from a bald eagle. The home was comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. We spent hours on the screened porch. The home is a short drive to many of the local scenic attractions. Ferndale is beautiful, from its sweet sunrises to stunning sunsets. Whether sitting inside this beautifully furnished house or out on the spacious three-sided porch you never want to leave. But if you do, there's plenty to see and do, whether you take a nature walk in the fern and moss clothed forest or drive to darling nearby towns like Bath and Boothbay. I could gush on and on. Talk about leaving your heart somewhere....I left mine at Ferndale. Please let third home know what a beautiful relaxing home we stayed in. The views of the bay were breathtaking views each morning. The home was clean and adequate bed linens in each bedroom. If you want a real getaway relaxing vacation this is the place but near enough to coastal towns and nice restaurants. Thank you, Third Home and Ree Gillette! ”
