July 2018Family Reunion
Perfect family getaway home. The owner was so accommodating, and the home had plenty of amenities. Well appointed kitchen, & luxury linens, and towels. The home was very spacious, with an open concept. We really enjoyed the outdoor pool and jacuzzi. Having a crib with lots of toys was icing on the cake for my 2 year old grandson. ”

July 2018Want to feel unwelcome? This is the place.
Note: what you see on the website is NOT what you get! Only three of the five bedrooms are adult-friendly. One contains a crib and the other a twin-sized trundle bed. The office shown in the pictures is locked and therefore unavailable. Prior to arriving, the owner tried to get us to cancel by claiming that a plumbing problem existed which would require over a month to repair. Since my wife had friends meeting us there we told the owner we didn’t want to cancel and would take our chances. When we contacted him just before our scheduled arrival he said that the repairs were completed but once again suggested he would be OK with our canceling. One of our guests had to cancel because the host never bothered to reach out and tell us that the repairs had been completed until we were forced to call him to confirm a few days before our scheduled arrival, at which point she decided that her airfare had become too cost prohibitive. Upon arrival, even though we had booked months in advance, we found children’s riding toys outside the front door tucked behind the pillars, the floor in need of sweeping, a child’s drinking cup with water still in it left on the kitchen counter and the counter had to be wiped down as did the stove. A deadbolt had been installed on the garage door leading from inside the house into the garage to keep guests out of the garage (not to prevent someone from entering the house from the garage). Keyed locks were used to secure the kitchen pantry door as well as ALL of the adult bedroom clothes closets. The children’s bedroom closets did not have locks, but had metal L brackets screwed into the door frame and the door to prevent them from being opened. The office, a good place for a guest to comfortably work, was also locked. Though the upstairs bedroom where my guest slept had a television in it, she said it didn’t have any cable or network connectivity. One of the children’s bathrooms even had a used sanitary napkin in the garbage can. The master bedroom had two dressers but one drawer was filthy and the other had some items left in it. The remaining four drawers between the two dressers were empty and clean. Unfortunately, since all of the clothes closets were secured, we did not have any place to hang our clothes. In one of the upstairs guest bedrooms, since the closet was secured, our guest only had a single night stand with one drawer to use and in it she found a pair of crumpled mens’ pajamas. On the plus side, the two children’s rooms had tons of toys in them. The child’s bedroom with the trundle bed in it had a large case full of toys that would have to be moved to wheel the trundle bed out. Fortunately, we did not need that bed since we did not have any children with us. We had played up the THIRDHOME experiences we have had in the past to our guest; unfortunately, this property (her first THIRDHOME experience) did not live up to her or our expectations and, as a result, she couldn’t wait to leave. We can only hope she will be willing to join us again at a different property. We felt as though the owner was hoping we would cancel and when we didn’t, had to scramble to vacate the place, leaving his family’s belongings behind and secured. We departed within 36 hours of our arrival. Hopefully the owner corrected the situation for the THIRDHOME guests that arrived the week following ours. As for us, we will not be returning to this property. ”
