Caidominici Villa (R)
Caidominici is a recently restored large Umbrian farmhouse… perfect for families and friends in search of a truly relaxing break in the “green heart” of Italy. The house has many original and traditional features, combined with modern design and luxury finishings.
Take original stonework, terracotta floors, exposed beams, open fireplaces, and the “hear a pin drop” location. Mix with polished concrete, a stunning modern stainless-steel kitchen, and luxury bathrooms. Add wi-fi, cooking services, and the outdoor wood-fired pizza oven, and you have a perfect place to enjoy your vacation.
This luxury villa sleeps up to 12 + 2 flexible across three areas. Eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms, three kitchens (one main and two smaller kitchens), several living areas, breakfast room, dining room, TV and cinema room, library, bar and games room, laundry, and garage.
Fundamentally this is a family home, and we are confident you will have the same feeling. The house is extremely spacious with multiple in- and outdoor living areas, yet cosy enough for small groups.
You will not find a more perfect place to wind down and totally relax. For those with a little more energy, there are many activities to keep you, or the children entertained. Of course, there is the stunning 20m heated infinity pool and a tennis court, bocce pitch, table tennis, and the house is surrounded by miles and miles of official “tracks,” perfect for mountain biking or walking.
Close by, there are other activities such as horse riding, truffle-hunting (seasonal), and even micro-lighting, and further afield, there is an ex-Four Seasons challenging golf course. In Umbria and Tuscany, there are some excellent vineyards, and trips can easily be arranged – some guests have even done this by helicopter, being picked up directly from the property!
Caidominici is set in a completely tranquil valley where your closest neighbours are the native deer. The local village of Pietralunga is a picturesque 10-minute drive away...here you will find basic shops for your day-to-day needs and a few rustic but delicious restaurants. It’s stepping back to the old, tranquil Italy.
Within an hour, you can be in countless stunning Italian towns such as Spello, Assisi, Cortona, Perugia, and Todi. Florence is approximately 1.5hrs away and so can also be visited in a day. I’m not sure I can adequately describe this fabulous villa but I can say that the pictures (which are very good!) don’t do it justice. It is a destination in itself so if you don’t need to be out and about every single day of your vacation, this is the perfect place to be able to relax at the property or take a day trip to the wonderful towns and villages in Umbria and Tuscany. The villa itself is stunning and the pool/outdoor kitchen and dining area/terraces are breathtaking. We altered our schedule twice just to be able to stay in and enjoy the property and the spectacular weather. I’d highly recommend having Simonetta cook for you….she’s absolutely amazing! Francesca made us feel welcome and pampered. She went out of her way to leave us a well-stocked basket of goodies so we didn’t need to run out to the grocery store on our first day. You won’t need to worry about anything because she will take great care of you and make sure you are comfortable! And finally, our gracious host James was always happy to help out and made our stay an absolute pleasure. Out of the many THIRDHOME properties we had enjoyed, Caidomenici Villa is now our favorite!! ”

We had high expectations from the photos on the website - the reality was even better. The pool is staggeringly beautiful with hotel-like surrounding poolside areas. The house is a beautifully restored stone villa that sits very comfortably within the wooded landscape. There are almost countless private interior and exterior areas to relax - and this works well with large groups. The optional extra of having a local cook from Pietralunga come to the house to cook for you is definitely a must - Simonetta was very professional and good company, quite willing to share her culinary secrets. Many thanks James and family for sharing your paradise with us!”
