October 2025⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unforgettable Stay at Esmeralda
Our stay at Esmeralda Del Mar was absolutely incredible from start to finish! The hosts were amazing! Super responsive before our trip, answering every question promptly and even providing great tips about the island. They connected us with their reservation specialist, who coordinated our golf carts, cab rides to and from the airport (complete with a grocery stop!), and shared excellent recommendations for dining and excursions. The house itself was impeccable, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. From cookware, pitchers, ice, detergents, and paper towels to beach towels and even little kitchen extras; it truly felt like home. Each bedroom had its own A/C control and incredibly comfortable bedding. The views were unmatched. We enjoyed turquoise water by day and stunning sunrises and sunsets from the rooftop every evening. The caretakers, Benjamin and Adi, were phenomenal. They greeted us warmly with welcome drinks and helped unload our luggage upon arrival. Adi taught us how to make local fry jacks for breakfast and even prepared a delicious dinner for us one night: lobster, fish, and grilled chicken! Benjamin was up early each morning tending to the property, and while they were always available when needed, they were also wonderfully discreet. It was such a comfort having them nearby. We did two full-day excursions arranged through Ali Mermaid Adventures, which I cannot recommend enough. Our guides, Eddie and Alphonso, were fantastic, so knowledgeable, accommodating, and great with our group (5 adults, a 2-year-old, and an infant!). We snorkeled, fished, visited Caye Caulker for lunch, saw sea horses and stingrays, fed tarpons, and even had a beach BBQ where they cooked up our freshly caught conch, lobster, and fish. It was a highlight of our trip and an experience we’ll never forget. Overall, Esmeralda Del Mar exceeded all expectations. The combination of stunning views, thoughtful amenities, amazing caretakers, and top-notch excursions made this the perfect family getaway. We would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ambergris Caye!”

September 2024Beauty is Belize
When we booked this property we were hoping to find the right spot and the Ambergis area to do our fly fishing and diving from. This property turned out to be just that everything was wonderful. The host, the caretakers, all of it, we couldn't give higher compliments.”

January 2023Paradise on the beach
Our stay was excellent! Frank and Pat have gone to great lengths to ensure the guests have a wonderful stay. First off, the home is well built and still feels brand new inside and out. The layout was designed to ensure everyone has their own private suite with King bed and private bathroom and closet on opposite ends of the house. There is an open spacious feel with tall ceilings and plenty of natural light. Nice AC units are in every room that can be set to your preferred sleeping temperature or just open the windows and enjoy the sea breeze. The pool and deck were used every day and so convenient with a view that is now my wife's screen saver on her phone. There is even have a large comfortable roof top deck to see up and down the beach or the stars at night. The flights to and from the San Pedro island were easy and the airline very relaxed with moving flights up or back depending on when you arrive. The international airport and the small companies (Maya or Tropic Air) are right at the same small airport making 90 minutes plenty of time to fly into Belize, claim your luggage and walk through a set of doors to the small airline. (You don't need pay the optional bag handler to walk your luggage through the doors- it's right there.) The beach has soft sand and the available kayaks made it easy to paddle out and enjoy the shallow reef which has an abundance of sea life. Swimming around the dock area is possible but going out across the bay to the actual reef and crystal clear water is where you will see all the wildlife. We went almost everyday in the kayaks out to the reef. We did snorkeling and a dive in the famous marine reserve area (Hol Chan) which was a short boat ride away and saw everything from eagle rays to baracuda, moray eels and nurse sharks. And not just one but serveral! Also the dive shop picked us up and dropped us off right at the dock which was convenient. I recommend you rent a golf cart (mode of transportation for most of the islanders) for your stay which is about $35-40 dollars per day as there are not many shops and only a few restaurants close by. Town is about a 20 minute golf cart ride away. "Rocks" golf cart company delivered the golf cart to the house and at the end of the stay we drove it back to town and they dropped us off at the airport (a few blocks away) for no charge. With the cart we went to Secret Beach across the island a few times and into town every night. Highly recommend getting dinner and enjoying the weekend live entertainment and outdoor movie and games at "The Truck Stop". Great vibe there for the whole family. And we felt very safe everywhere on the islands day and night. The care takers Benjamin and Adi live on-site in the back which was a huge plus. They kept to themselves but were available whenever we needed to give us recommendations on where to eat and what to do. Benjamin would ready the kayaks when we wanted to use them and then put them away. Also Adi took our fresh caught fish and made us the best local meal I have ever eaten! Man was it good. They treated us like family. It was a wonderful trip and a great place to stay that was private, secluded and away from everything but still close enough to go into town for an evening of entertainment. Thank you for opening your home to us for a great vacation. We will be back! ”
