Just Beautiful...

Castle Retrat is a gem! The house is cozy and beautifully decorated, but the main attraction is the garden. Spacious and immaculately landscaped, the garden gave us space to slow down and relax. We had our morning coffee on the porch, afternoon drinks by the pool, and dinner by the BBQ. What a treat!”

Perfect!

We had an amazing 4 nights at Castle Retreat and Cottage. We came for BottleRock. The home has an amazing comfortable feel. So many places to hang out, heathers to make it comfortable. We had two adult children that shared a bathroom, we had the master that was so comfortable. Another friend joined us in the pool house that was beautiful. We didn't spend too much time in the home because of the festival going on. Fantastic Property and Area!

What an amazing week at Castle Retreat and Cottage. Our family of 6 (Mom, Dad, two adult children and their plus 1s) stayed for a week at Barbara's wonderful home. Beautifully situated and appointed, the home was simply an oasis and Barbara could not have been more helpful with our little questions and offering area suggestions. We are well seasoned travelers and my son commented at the end of the trip that this was likely his favorite.”

A Jewel Box Home in Sonoma

This home is a gem. Our hostess was very gracious and gave us lots of good information. The interior of the home is cozy, comfortable and very well equipped. The grounds are an oasis. Beautiful outdoor space and landscaping everywhere you look. We didn't use the pool house but it is a fully contained guest suite. We did use the pool though! We had a great time hiking, wine tasting, and relaxing in the yard. We took advantage of all the great restaurants we did not cook but the next time we would love to use the outdoor grill and pizza oven area. Great location too. The town is just a few minute drive and lots of wineries within a short distance. Bartholomew Estates and their private 375 acre park (open to hiking) is right down the street! We will definitely visit Castle Retreat again if we have the opportunity!”

Relaxing stay with all the ameneties

There were 7 of us who stayed at Castle Retreat and it was perfect. There were seating areas for everyone to have some space and plenty of places for us to be together and enjoy the wood fired oven, the pergola with the fountain, the swimming pool and the fire pit. We had everything we needed to cook several meals and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Barbara was a great host and we would love to come back.”

Superb New Year Vacation at Wine Country!

We had a fabulous time at Castle Retreat and Cottage. We were two families of four. We were all very comfortable having one family in the main house and one family in the cottage. The owner waited for us at the house and gave us all the instructions in person. She was also very helpful in helping us organize our trip before our arrival. The house is gorgeous. We used the fire place everyday and it made the place look and feel warm and cozy. The location of the house was perfect. We were literally five minutes from downtown Sonoma, grocery stores, restaurants, wine tasting rooms and wineries. We also visited wineries in Napa. Everything is within an hour from the house (even San Francisco). The kitchen is fully equipped. The linens are excellent quality. The master bathroom has a beautiful tub. I highly recommend this property if you would like to explore wine country with friends.”

We had the most wonderful time and your beautiful home was perfectly situated to all of the winery's. Our group thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The grounds and amenities in addition to the wonderful separate living quarters were all perfect and tastefully decorated. The gourmet kitchen was perfect and evenings by the outside were delightful. Sonoma Retreat

We loved our stay in Sonoma! Castle Retreat was the perfect home base. The house was so comfortable and the whimsical outdoor spaces were a treat. Amazing property in a prime location

We had such an incredible time at this quaint cottage home in Sonoma's wine country. It is easy to walk to the downtown square of Sonoma from the house. The home's property, David, was a wealth of information on where to go, places to eat and boutique winers to visit. Barbara, the owner, couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. The pool, bocci ball court and outdoor dining is fabulous. We highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to enjoy the heart of the California wine country.”
