Chalet Chardonneret is a stunning newly extended and refurbished ski chalet in the old town of Saint Foy in the French Alps, set in grounds of 3500 square feet and with 5 bedrooms, this is the ideal home for a week away skiing in the mountains.
The rustic-style kitchen, lounge, and dining room have been crafted using traditional exposed wooden beams to form the ceilings and a modern marble for the flooring. The lounge has 2 facing brown chesterfield sofas with a low-lying wooden coffee table in between, just next to large windows and a sliding glass door which leads onto an outside balcony. On top of this, there's also a 15th-century French fireplace, all of which is at the top on the third floor to make the most of the amazing views of the valley.
There are 4 ensuite double beds on the ground and first floors, 2 in separate rooms and 2 more which share the same room. The rooms have huge old style wardrobes with chest of drawers and their own en-suite bathrooms, some with a traditional wooden style, others a more modern touch. Above there is a mezzanine with a fifth double bed, but the area can also be used as a card and games area.
Outside there is a balcony running the length of the living space and a large deck with a hot tub and fire pit above the garage accessed from the living level or a door from one of the bedrooms on level two.
Another benefit of this stunning alpine property is that there's a ski store and a heated boot room so after a day on the mountains drop your gear off there and you can be sure to have warm dry boots for the following morning.
Additionally, there is a therapy room, so if you want to pay to book one of the local masseurs to come and give treatments, that's also an option.
Chalet Chardonneret is luxurious and quiet but equally with some lively places to go out to eat and drink within walking distance. There is a ski bus shuttle to the Saint Foy ski station, but to get the most out of staying here, a vehicle is recommended so that you can fully explore the surrounding famous neighbours of Val D’Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs and La Rosier between 5 and 15 minutes drive from the chalet. The skiing opportunities are virtually endless.

Paul was wonderfully communicative and helpful in us planning ahead for our stay. The home was just perfect - well stocked and well appointed. A great time was had by all - especially the cyclists!”
Very nice chalet, clean and comfortable. The owners Paul and Teresa are lovely and very helpful. We have enjoyed our stay very much”
Thank you to Paul for opening up his wonderful family ski chalet for our new years eve week holiday. The chalet is 5 star and is in top notch condition. We had 4 adults and 2 teenagers and were very comfortable among the 5 bedrooms. The location is perfect amongst the top ski resorts in the area. All within 5-20 minutes drive. The chalet is very well cared for and it obvious the owners are very proud and have spent a lot of though furnishing and decorating their chalet. We flew into Geneva as Paul recommended and the 2.5 hour scenic drive is an event in itself and easy. There are tons of restaurants to eat in Val D'Iser and the immediate area though we found our selfs using the large kitchen and dining area to create our own meals while enjoying the French Alps views. We hope we are lucky enough to visit Chalet Chardonneret again! Book this Thirdhome if it becomes available. You will love it!”
