Incredible Space!

What an incredible property! No expenses spared in a state-of-the-art, uniquely-designed condo in Hell's Kitchen. We were traveling for business in NYC and Julie/James could not have been more accommodating as hosts. The combination of their graciousness and the comfortable, intimate feel of the property made us feel like we were relaxing at home even though we were on a business trip thousands of miles away. When was the last time you stayed in NYC and had the possibility of enjoying a nice glass of wine next to your own, private, wood-burning fireplace??? ”

The Vortex was a perfect "home away from home!" Everything was exactly as described. Wonderful location, beautiful accommodations, very responsive host ... all making for a perfect week! Of course, it's NY but, even so, Hell's Kitchen area offers a bit of a different vibe than a few blocks over on 5th Avenue. Perfect secluded spot to enjoy all that NYC has to offer!

Hosts Julie and James were incredibly accommodating and kind to us. The apartment itself is a peaceful respite from the barrage of NYC sights and sounds. It’s conveniently located to everything (there are many popular attractions nearby), and the remodeled apartment has many amenities that weren’t even listed. With smart technology for ambiance lighting and music, to a steam shower and giant soaking tub. There is also an outdoor fireplace with a large patio, as well as a movie screen theater, it’s the quintessential New York Pied-a-terre. I love a ground floor apartment where you can open the windows for fresh air and pop right out onto the street to all the conveniences of the nearby restaurants and sites. We would return again and again if we could. ”

Awesome Apartment

Great location for a stay in NYC. Very high tech so be prepared to learn system. Had teens who enjoyed the movie room. Julie was very helpful and gracious. Highly recommend if you want to be near everything but still have the feeling of a neighborhood. ”

Unique Spot!

We enjoyed ourselves in this lovely two-level apartment. The biggest issue for us was the electronics: everything is controlled from an iPad: lights, heat, TV, shades. The instructions were of some help but not sufficient. The owners are generally available and helpful but it still takes some time to understand the process. Circular staircase is rather steep. ”

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday week here. Walking distance to many of our favorite NYC theaters, restaurants, parks and stores. Smart house setup allowed us to control virtually everything through an iPad. Amazing “human car wash” shower. Perfect hosts. ”

The Vortex is centrally located, close to time square, Central Park and other close by attractions. It is a well appointed and clean property. Host Julie was very gracious and cooperative.
