November 2022A STAY ON RESORT VACATION
This is a very large property, with a golf course, spa, activities and nightlife. You can go here and never leave the property and still enjoy yourself. Good restaurants. Great nightly shows. BUT getting bigger and bigger with amusement park now on grounds. Good for families. Not necessarily a quiet, romantic vacation!”

March 2024Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta Stay
Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at the Grand Luxxe. The room and accommodations were top notch and were perfect for the 6 of us (2 families). Getting around the overall property, while very large, was pretty easy with all of the golf carts on the resort, and the food that we had was mostly very good. We loved all the options for pools as well, which made the stay very kid-friendly. Our only complaints with the property were that, at times, things felt a bit disorganized. It was difficult to make/confirm reservations at the restaurants, and it was overly complicated to get/confirm babysitters. ”

December 2023Wonderful Weather and Service
Stayed one week in a wonderful two bedroom suite. Our concierge was very helpful and the beds were nice. The room was very large and our family of four was very comfortable. The property is vast and getting around can be a little tricky from the newer buildings closer to the golf course, so bring your walking shoes.”

January 2024Beautiful Resort - Perfect for Families and Aging Adults
This was my second stay at Vidanta. Once you get past the timeshare sales, which is no fun, it's a beautiful place to be. This trip was with my older parents and mobility was made easy through the rental of sit-on scooters. They were able to take full advantage of the 300 acre resort and all the amenities by having the scooters. The market on property has excellent food options and the restaurants are good (not excellent, but good). No need to leave property all week, plenty to do and excellent service all around.”

December 2023Great Propery, but Poor Customer Service
The property was great, we enjoyed the restaurants (not world class dining but good for a resort), the room was great, the pools were great (though funny that the more expensive areas (Grand Luxxe vs Grand Mayan) have warmer pools) and the new theme park was really fun. However, the customer service if anything goes wrong is pretty bad. All the staff is nice, but nobody is empowered to do anything if something goes wrong and one employee even told me the motto amongst employees is that “Vidanta always wins” because if anyone has to take something off your bill it comes out of their pocket not the company. If they could just step up the customer service it’d be a lot better, but we sadly just had a few examples of it being quite poor. That said if you don’t experience any issues or don’t care about customer service as much, it was a fantastic stay. On the note of the sale presentation, know that it can be way longer than advertised, the 1hr timer starts after breakfast, which if you factor in the walking and waiting is going to be at least an hour to. We asked to skip but they said no. Our only saving grace was the kids absolutely losing it by ~10:30a (we arrived at 8:30a). So expect at least 2hrs and honestly I felt lucky we got out by then.”

November 2023Vidanta is not a 5 stars resort anymore
I had very good experience in Vidanta in the past Now after 3 years almost in Vidanta Nuevo Nayarit it’s not the same experience at all. First the reception was force by at least 3 différents people to assist their presentation to become their member. At the presentation for 4 hours at least 6 différents people try and been agressive to buy something ( membership of all kind) . Totally unacceptable and unethical 😡 We stay here 3 weeks and we have been treated in term of residence as second class to member, they always try to put you down and with no view contrary to to pub on the site. We unfortunately had lived cockroaches almost every day and ask for extermination . Both of us had skin problems and my girlfriend needs medical assistance twice 😡 I will never go back to Vidanta even with a deal that I had . I love Thirdhome and it’s possibility worldwide but no-more Vidanta Éric ”

March 2023Vidanta
Our stay at Vidanta was wonderful after we had to go thru complete confusion at check in. My party was taken to the Residences building even though I questioned that. We then were taken to Tower 5 to check in which was correct. We had 3 couples checking in on Saturday and one couple coming in on Sunday. When Sunday came they booked our couple into a room occupied by one of the Saturday check in couples and the entire ordeal lasted 4 hours with neither couple being able to get into either room. Tired, the arriving couple was not happy as I the owner was not also. I am also not happy that Vidanta now has the one in three year rule that Thirdhome now also has to deal with. Vidanta needs to improve their check in process but I have seen little improvement in over 18 years. Our business with Thirdhome has been very smooth and this review should be directed to Vidanta.”

April 2023Very Impressive
We really enjoyed the high end accommodations and the property is beautiful! Lots of pools to choose from along with. Many different options for restaurants. Food is high quality but not cheap. Just make sure inspect your bills before paying to ensure that there are no incremental up charges. Caught this on one of the bills. Also avoid the timeshare pitch. I will go back again.”

January 2023Great property
We have stayed here twice in the past two years. This is a safe resort with luxurious accommodations amid beautiful landscaping, numerous pools, excellent restaurants, enjoyable entertainment, golf, beach, etc. Well trained and welcoming staff who are quick to make your stay better. Highly recommend it. ”

March 2023Spring Break at Vidanta
Our family was impressed with Vidanta, its own destination getaway. The property is expansive, but the signage and wayfinding were clear and located across the property to help you get around. The food was delicious, and we loved how friendly the staff was. We are planning a second trip, hoping to see the property as it continues to develop. With the addition of the amusement park that is under construction, it will be a complete one stop getaway.”

December 2022Vidanta Resort Was First Class
The 2 bedroom unit we stayed in was outstanding with beautiful views. The staff was friendly and helpful. The resort was large but did not seem crowded. The restaurants and bars were nice but expensive. The next time we go we will experience off site restaurants more often. We will return at some point to experience again.”

October 2022Beautiful property, some flaws that make it slightly less than perfect for our family
First off this property is beautiful. There are plenty of restaurants, pools, and beach areas throughout the development to make it so you can do something different each day and never leave the property. While mostly a plus, it was a little sad that we didn’t get into the city nearly as much as we would have wanted but we actually stayed for a few days in the city prior to coming to the resort so for us it turned out to not matter. It’s also very reasonably priced taxi ride to get into the city, but takes about 30 minutes each way. The unit we had was beautiful and huge. It was just two of us for the week so tons of space, but you could easily have 6 adults in this unit and not be crowded. The beach itself was also wonderful. It was huge and the waves big enough to be enjoyable but not scary, if I had kids there I would have felt very comfortable with them in the water for the most part though the chairs are really far back from the water. The main downsides…. First, the grocery store on property is pretty limited, if we go back we will take taxi off property to a real grocery store. Second, bottled water at restaurants is very expensive, just bring your own from the grocery store where it’s reasonably priced. Third, the unit does not have an oven or a dishwasher so doing full meals for large groups would be a challenge. Fourth, there are very few vegan options anywhere on the property and those that exist are basically the same at each place. Fifth, you can’t really walk that far along the beach without encroaching on other resorts/properties/etc. Relatedly, while the boardwalks are wonderful for walking, there isn’t really anywhere to do an outdoor run longer than about 3 miles without doing laps on the boardwalks because we were told pedestrians are not allowed on the roads so there were no other options. I went to the sales pitch knowing that two of the downsides (limited vegan options and lack of longer distance outdoor walking/running options) would make it impossible for me to convince my husband. The deal they offered was for a vacation package and was well priced rather than a timeshare which are all quite expensive at this resort, but given the limitations for our family mentioned above, I decided against it. As expected, the sales team was super nice at first but turned a little condescending once I said no and kept saying they couldn’t understand why I would say no but for me that just meant they weren’t listening to my needs from the get go. Anyway, overall it was a wonderful week, but if I go back I’ll skip the free extra key to listen to the sales pitch because it did spur the overall experience somewhat. For me I would have preferred the offer to be made to me electronically after the stay as that I probably would have done, but I’m sure they have their reasons for doing it the way they do it. Overall I recommend this property and am interested in going to some of their other properties in the future. ”

October 2022Beautiful Room and Tropical Locale
We had a lovely stay at the very large Vidanta resort in Nuevo Vallarta. Our time luckily coincided with Dia de los Muertos. The lodgings were definitely upscale. The main room looked out on a large outdoor patio separated by floor to ceiling windows and at least 25 foot tall curtains. Each of the master suites were large and nicely appointed. Full service kitchen, with chef services available on request and a very large square marble-topped dining table; just a lovely space. The grounds are laced with wooden footpaths. What is a long walk can be shortened with electric cart service wherever you want to go on the property, but most distances are within a walkable 5-10 minutes. All the restaurants serve delicious food, and the service was 5-star all the way. The people to a person - for the entire week - were gracious and helpful. The people that work at Vidanta left me with a profound sense of peace. Except for the last day before departure we took all our meals on premises and tipped liberally. There is very nice shopping at the Plaza for anything you might need. If you leave anything home or luggage is misplaced, you will be able to replace it with nice finds at the Plaza. We went on a 3-hour sunset sail our third evening, something I would do again in a second. Drinks and appetizers were served and the sunsets here are phenomenal. We attended a special celebration the fifth evening at the Cantina in honor of the Dia de los Meurtos- food and service was exceptional. We went into Puerto Vallarta the day before departure to walk the Malecon and see all the Catrinas that local businesses put up in honor of Dia de los Muertos. I felt safe where ever we went within Vidanta and in Puerto Vallarta. I felt that were were in good hands. Mauricio welcomed us into Vidanta and spent a few minutes explaining how the Vidanta experience could be navigated. We were then carted to our room where we were met with our luggage. Theresa and Carmen followed up during the week to offer services to us as Thirdhome members. We declined the breakfast that was offered, and the service was never less than 5-star. Vidanta's Mansara Restaurant was a superb experience made seriously better with the assistance of Edvin. Antonio was wonderful at The Green Table. We went back to the Mansara for lobster night and had a fine time with Daniel as our waiter. One of the cart drivers, Elias was great about telling us where we were in the resort. Patricia and Fernanda freshened our rooms daily. Traveling is usually a basket of unknowns that make traveling a youthening experience as we adjust to new or unexpected occurances. However, the Vidanta experience is nothing less than 5-star because of the people who work there and the excellence of the food. Especially during the Dias de los Muertos remembrance - meaningful and deeply felt holy days - I will return to Vidanta's Grand Luxxe in Nuevo Vallarta.”

February 2022Lots of good perks, room view is not one of them
We love the Vidanta resort and the Luxxe is a very nice area of the resort to stay. It was a busy time and the room that we got at first had a mold smell to it. They were able to transfer us to a different room on ground level which was a disappointing view of the trees. The property itself is great- but the exchange only allows for rooms on the ground floor or first floor.”

September 2022Pooltopia!
This resort has amazing service. They really hire great employees that care about your stay. We booked a a two bedroom villa and they put us in a three-bedroom spa suite, so I don't agree that 3rd home users only get the bottom floors (we were on the 5th floor and had a pretty golf course view with our own massage room). The food was great - I especially liked the seafood one on the beach. Avoid the hibachi grill however (unless you visit in cooler season) as it is way too hot to sit outside with a hot grill! I also highly recommend the tequila tasting and dinner. We truly enjoyed it (Israel was amazing) and we learned some new delicious tequilas. The food paired with the tasting was out of this world good. The main thing this resort has to offer though are world class pools. They have pools that rival any five star hotel, and all have great service. I would not recommend this hotel for those who are super picky about beaches, as the beach is connected to a river delta and therefore has brownish water. This is a great holiday for great food, hanging out at a gorgeous pool, and beautiful accommodations. I also want to point out that there is excellent security, so you never feel at risk on the resort grounds (PS, there are crocs in the area, so if you have little ones - don't let them roam at night). ”

Our stay at the Grand Luxxe was excellent except for one issue. The meeting that we are always asked to attend, we attended. We were told that it was a one hour max time commitment. After five hours, we were allowed to leave. No matter what, don’t accept the offer for a sales meeting unless you intend to buy.”

March 2022Solid option
We enjoyed our stay at Vidanta. We had a 2 bedroom Grand Luxxe Master villa room. The first room was very musty so we asked to change rooms. The second room wasn't bad- it was ground floor. Exchange reservations only get ground floor and 1st floor so don't plan on sunny side or upper floor with a view.”

April 2022Adult Disney World
Property is huge and very well maintained. TIME SHARE PRESENTATION PEOPLE come close to ruining the visit. They out and out lied and were downright rude. As many have said, you dont get the room / floor you want unless you agree to presentation. You also get a VIP card which entitles you to 10% off and a few other food benefits. Check in was awful. It took 3 hours and that was with us agreeing to presentation. You do have to allow for extra time going to restaurants , pools etc... bc the property is so big. They do have great pools and lots of walking trails. Restaurants are OK. Some were really good like Italian Tramonto and breakfast at Cafe De Lago. Custom Burger Bar was ridiculously expensive--$210 for 4 burgers, 4 fries and 3 cocktails. At resorts you have to expect to pay a little more--but this was even higher than I thought for Mexico. The room was very nice and had very nice amenities. We stayed in the 2 BR and found it to be great along with the concierge on each flour. If you can , request Tower 5 bc it is the only one in Grand Luxxe that has a rooftop pool and bar and it was awesome. Overall, it was a very nice hotel but not sure I will return--especially if I was paying for it. TIP--Download the app if you go--it is very helpful and make sure and make reservations DAYS ahead of time bc if you wait til the day you want to go--you will never get in a restaurant”

March 2022Worst stay ever
The check in was horrendous. It took us over an hour and a half to check in. We were in a check in line with over 80 people deep. Although the rooms are big, the furniture was tired and beat up. The restaurants were twice as expensive as anything in downtown PV. This would have been fine if the restaurants were good. However, the food and service at the restaurants were terrible at best. One night we had ordered chicken nuggets from Quinto for our daughter. There was a long piece of hair in the nugget. The manager didn’t seem to care and even implied that it couldn’t have been from his staff. We also had to send my steak back twice because it kept coming well done on the outside while raw on the inside. The kids club hours seemed to open and close as they pleased. There was no rhyme or reason for their closings. One night our room was left completely unlocked and open by somebody on their staff. There was supposed to be an investigation on what happened but nobody ever got back to us. There is construction everywhere. Room service wqs painfully slow. It took over an hour and a half to get breakfast one morning. The resort is huge and requires for you to wait 20 minutes for a golf cart to take you anywhere. The trip was so bad, we literally tried to cancel our already booked reservations at Vidanta for this summer while we were on this trip. Unfortunately, that was not an option. I would definitely think twice before booking this place.”

March 2022Family fun at a beautiful big resort!
The resort is huge, but the walkways connecting the property are lush, beautiful and well marked (there are also shuttles running frequently). There are lots of pools and restaurants to choose from and overall the food is good. The beach is expansive, feels private, no rocks, and in parts has a large sandbar. The spa is wonderful, highly recommend. The units are large and well appointed. Very easy and quick to get to from PV airport. Lots of activities to do, and quiet spots to lounge. A few critiques- you need to make dinner reservations in advance or you'll be eating after 9pm. If you want to be at the main beach pool, get there before 10am to claim lounge chairs. Do not do the breakfast presentation unless you are 100% interested in purchasing timeshares- as a Thirdhome member you do not have to do these presentations and they take 3 + hours NOT the 60 mins they advertise. ”

March 2022Room Theft and Timeshare sales saga
this was our third time staying here. The resort is nice and has alot to offer there were two negatives this trip. One was attending the time share presentation. We explained to the original offering agent as third home members we were not interested in attending as we have several homes and prefer to own 100% of a unit versus timeshare / fractional we were aasured it was just an update on how they coordinate with third home etc and new potential offerings. I knew it would be more and I am in sales myself so was somewhat prepared. But it sucked up over half of a full day of vacation and they just wouldnt take no and let us get on with our day. NEVER AGAIN Also my sister had 75.00 stolen from her purse in our adjoining room. Security investigated and we should have used the room safe, but honestly did not expect that to be a issue at Vidanta. Guess I was wrong and will be more careful in the future .”

March 2022Overall good experience
The Grand Luxxe is an excellent set of properties within the Vidanta complex. We had a nice 2 bedroom unit than accommodated 5 comfortably. No dishwasher in our unit but this will change with newer upgrades Easy walk to many pools and restaurants. Good activities but you have to plan. Tennis and pickleball courts are isolated. Good golf options. Food is excellent but a little pricey. They entice you in pool area with “Happy Hours” where some drinks are 2 for 1. Sad to see vacationers get drunk. If you are new, they offer you “perks” to attend a sales presentation that can hold you hostage for hours. Avoid it unless you are interested in a purchase. Talk to others who are owners before you fall into the sales pitch. I will say that we met many people who have been owners and regulars for 15-20 years. We purchased a small future package and plan to go back.”

November 2021Mega resort with Vidanta App
We stayed in tower 5 with a golf course view on the 2nd level. Our room was tidy, well maintained, and clean. The daily cleaning and turndown service was a nice add on for a timeshare (i mean private residence club). There is no dishwasher or oven in the unit. Laundry was available on each floor but you needed a keycard to access. So positives - nice staff, very nice setup, great rooms, lots of options for pools and activities. Spa and golf options were nice Not our favorites - so big that you need to wait on a golf cart to take you places, there is an app to make dining reservations but you need to reserve in advance (even for family of 4), food inside the resort was comparable to US prices ($50-70 for lunch) - wish there was an all inclusive option, unless you are a "member" you can not access the gondola or some blocked off chairs/beach areas, lastly booking everything through the tower concierge or travel agent became a problem with waiting in lines. ”

November 2021LOVELY RESORT….BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED AND WELL MAINTAINED!
Positives: •Airport transportation to resort was very smooth (included in $42 per unit daily resort fee) (On departure our Suburban from resort to airport-$32) •We stayed in a ground level condo our first week (pretty typical for ThirdHome exchanges) 2 Bdm Grand Luxxe Master suite. (Tower 4 ) Week 2 we stayed in a 2 Bdm Royal Suite condo in Tower 6. Both were Very clean, comfortable, spacious and well maintained. •Daily house keeping was nice ( dishwashing $37 extra for the week) •We vacationed from early-mid November (after the rainy season) The weather was delightful… It was surprisingly green, lush and beautiful… The lush flora combined with the views of the Sierra Madre Mountains made us feel like we were in Hawaii. •2 for 1 Happy Hour at Pool Bars from 11:00-1:00 and from 5:00-6:00 •Lots of complementary activities and entertainment •The hard working staff was very kind and pleasant. Negatives: •The scale of this resort is a bit overwhelming… It’s by far the largest resort we’ve ever stayed at.”

November 2021Not all reviews. tell the story!
Prior to this trip, I read some of the review from other members and was a little nervous on what my expectations were for this resort! First off - this place is massive! Very clean! Very friendly! From arriving in PV - shuttle was right there and quick! check in a little slow but not bad. I thought I would have to encourage the checkin host to make sure we got a nice room. decide to let it go and be happy with whatever we got. We were expecting a 2 bedroom - and wow! we were blessed with a 3 bedroom spa suite! Yes 3 amazing rooms and a massage room for in-suite rub downs! The view - 10 stars! watched the sunrise over the mountain top every morning! The grounds are very thick with green jungle vegetation and the shuttle service is excellent! We did op to do the sales presentation had a wonderful young man as our presenter and a 10 star free breakfast. He knew little about 3rd home and once he figured it out our sales presentation quickly came to an end. of course he had to let his boss try but he knew also -No Sale! We just booked another week next October and can't wait to return. Highly recommend the Zip Line tour - via the boat ride! - We had so much fun!!! Restaurants are 8 out of 10 - Pool bar - 8 out of 10. Pools all 12 or 20 of them - excellent - Especially the floating river! Overall resort - 5 Stars! I love Cabo - but this might be the new go to location!!!!!”

Not overly thrilled with this resort. Our accommodations were nice - very spacious - the view was terrible from our room however. We looked out over an unfilled pond and at what looked to be a dumping ground and a construction site. We were told they would move us if we attended their “breakfast”. No thanks - very disappointed in that. The resort as a whole is HUGE! It’s like being at DisneyWorld. We did enjoy the Pickleball courts and the spa. Probably will not return to this resort. ”

May 2021Strong smell, sales presentation over too long
Don't agree to go to a sales presentation unless you have 3-4 hours and like being pressured. Once we finally convinced them we were not interested in buying, they took us thru 4 more people before we received the agreed upon gifts for attending. We stayed at Grand Luxxe Tower 4 and the air freshener they use is way over powering. Almost smells toxic. Pro shop the same. Bars at pool do not open till 11am and close at 7pm. Property way too expansive in my opinion. Always waiting for shuttles.”

January 2021Fantastic get away!! highly recommend
absolutely fantastic. The resort was gorgeous, the room was exquisite, the pools beautiful. We found the staff wonderful and helpful. We enjoyed our stay so much, we stayed an additional week. The Plaza contains a grocery store with all the essentials which came in helpful. The picture of the rooms in ThirdHome shows the view with an ocean. That is often not the case as you could be on the other side of the building. I would stay away from the sales pitch (when you check in) if you can. That is a 2.5 hour nightmare (which you are told is 60 mins). other than that, this is a magical place and we look forward to returning many many times.”

October 2019Great Stay!
Had a great week at the Grand Luxxe! Delicious food at all restaurants and pool bars. The pools and scenery were amazing. Rooftop pool at tower 5 was are favorite! Loved the JOY squad especially Marysol and Magdelane. Cleaning sunglasses and handing out popsicles with a smile every single day! Juan was a great waiter at the burger restaurant. We will be back soon! ”
