Go-Cottage, Lake Placid

Wow what a fantastic holiday! Go-Cottage is a beautiful, super comfortable, little home with everything that you would need for a very relaxing stay. It is ideally located for everything there is to do in the Adirondacks whether in the snow or in the sun. There is lots to do, in and around Lake Placid and nothing is very far away. If it is a summer break or an all adventure winter holiday you are after this is the place. The skiing is fantastic. Whiteface Mountain has trails for all levels and the X-country skiing at the Olympic Centre was out of this world! The scenery is amazing, the trails were beautifully groomed and so lovely and quiet. It was our first experience of X-country skiing and we have definitely been converted! If it is something you have not tried before there is no better place to give it a go. We would definitely recommend you take a lesson with Ken, the expert, who also happens to be the fly fishing instructor in the summer, as it will set you up for going at it alone. Also at the Olympic Centre you can experience the Olympic Bobsled and Skeleton run. It is certainly a once in a life time experience! The village of Lake Placid has a great variety of places to eat. The Brown Dog Cafe is a must. You must also sample the local beer that is brewed in town. As well as a lovely restaurant called The View, the Mirror Lake Inn also has a fully equipped spa that was very much appreciated after a few long days skiing. We would definitely recommend Go- Cottage and Lake Placid to anyone. We cant wait to go back- maybe in the summer next time. ”
