Description

The Hedges Lane Residence

Situated in the East Hampton hamlet of Amagansett, this newly renovated home is located just south of the highway and moments to everything. Greeted by lush green lawns and beautiful landscaping and vegetation, this home is the idyllic getaway for any Long Island beach week in the serenity of the best of the Hamptons.

Enter to an open floor plan with bright tones from the walls to the furnishings juxtaposed against chocolate colored hardwood floors. The living room combines the perfect amount of coastal influence with modern elegance, ideal for a Hampton’s home. The living room is open and airy, perfect for a carefree vacation and easy entertaining, equipped with light gray furniture, white brick walls, and a white brick fireplace. Open the doors to the expansive backyard oasis and enjoy the breeze and views of the spectacular heated Gunite pool and spa. In the evening, enjoy the HDTV Roku TV and watch a favorite show with the whole family.

The bright spacious kitchen and dining room flow seamlessly out of the living room. Enjoy back deck views that run the entire length of the home as you cook up a meal. The kitchen combines country chic with modern appliances and beach accents. The cabinets are a dark ocean blue with sleek tiles, and polished wood countertops. Enjoy cooking a meal with the stainless steel appliances and partaking at the glass dining table with wicker inspired seats next to the fireplace. Overlook the gorgeous backyard while dining and conversing with everyone.

The first floor also provides an expansive master suite entered through a private hallway. This room comes complete with a newly renovated master en-suite bathroom, king four poster bed, fireplace and sitting area. The back deck is also accessed through this room through glass doors. Enjoy the cozy fireplace and large flat screen TV after an exciting day exploring the area.

The second floor features three well-appointed bedrooms, 2 with queen beds and 1 with twin beds. Each room has brand new hardwood floors, large closets and a central air conditioner. All bathrooms are brand new featuring rain showers and marble finishes.

The entire family can enjoy this luxurious welcoming home. There are plenty of toys for children, beach chairs, umbrellas and towels are provided. Surely, the family will want to spend ample time outside at the pristine swimming pool while enjoying one another’s company. Relax on the lounge seats or enjoy a meal al fresco at the spacious dining table.

When it’s time to head out, the home is conveniently located near many attractions without the need for a vehicle. Just a 2 minute walk from Amagansett Square, enjoy a day of upscale shopping with a laid back feel at the many quaint shops. The Square also hosts a handful of special events for the community, like, outdoor concerts, movies on the green, and fundraisers. If shopping isn’t what the day calls for, Indian Wells Beach is just a 10-minute walk from the home. Here, everyone can enjoy a day under the sun, surfing, swimming, boating and more!

Though this area is known for its beaches and outdoor activities, there is still plenty to do during cooler months. The whole family will enjoy ice skating at the Southampton Ice Rink or Buckskill Winter Club, or bike the beach and bays when the roads and trails aren’t crowded. One of the best winter sites is the Montauk Lighthouse. Lit up in the night, all can enjoy the sunsets at one of the oldest functioning lighthouses in the country.

Whether the trip calls for exciting family fun, a peaceful couples retreat, or an outing with friends, Amagansett has everything to offer a perfect vacation, and The Hedges Lane Residence is the idyllic retreat to relax and unwind, and plan the adventures ahead.

Gorgeous Pool & Idyllic Setting!

We had an amazing visit to this beautiful home with possibly one of the most gorgeous pools ever. Lovely decor and great floor plan made this a truly wonderful place to return to after a nice walk down the lane to pick up morning coffee at Jack's or go the other direction and hit the beach. So lucky to have had the opportunity to spend a week in this idyllic setting!”

Love Amagansett! LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

Location, location, location. Unreal location in the heart of Amagansett. 5 minute walk to the town and its numerous restaurants, 10 minute walk to a beautiful beach. The pool was gorgeous with beautiful landscaping. The only caution with this is if you have little children, you have to be very attentive as there is no fence around the pool. We were allowed to bring our miniature poodle who had an amazing time in the well fenced and private yard. The house was beautiful, and perfect for an older family or all adults. The only small negatives were, no cable TV, you have this Roku type TV and only 1 of them at that. So we had a week without TV which wasn't as bad as I thought at the beginning. Overall this is a great home which we loved and would love to go back someday. Also terrific owners, who were very attentive to all of our needs.”

A Keyless Stay

As prefaced, we enjoyed a week at Hedges Lane as keyless guests, so in general is was lovely. Had we expensed considerable keys, we would have expected a bit more in terms of the residence itself and would have rated it fewer stars. Namely, we found ourselves without an ironing board, small toiletries in the bathrooms, and a bit more cleaning needing to have been done. Not the end of the world and perhaps this property is geared more toward extended stay guests that travel with these items, as well as separate cleaning service. We made do and did so without much pain. The downstairs master is by far the most desirable bedroom; the home really serves well for a couple on holiday or a family with small kids; as two couples, we felt a bit guilty in making room selections as even the second largest bedroom was considerably less desirable than the master. House rules and communication are generally clear; Owner remained in contact throughout our stay, responding very quickly when messaged. One rather egregious issue was the pet-policy. Residence page, as well as other rental sites for the property, indicate "pets with approval". We reached out well in advance for approval of a legitimate service dog and said request was denied on account that the Owner is allergic to dogs. What was upsetting is that the home - including the Dyson vacuum that had not been emptied since its last use - showed signs that a pet(s) very much enjoyed the home as well. And if it wasn't a dog, not sure how many persons travel with other types of pets, let alone a legitimate service pet. Water under the bridge at this point; it just felt very misleading to advertise everywhere possible and deny the request. Perhaps the Owner made a judgement call based on my profile and assumed we might be a rowdy bunch, so best not extend too many curtesies like pets, fireplace, etc. When we share our rental properties on ThirdHome, we try to do the opposite of treating them as rental guests and instead treat them as if the were Owners; to each their own. Again, it was a keyless stay so we really couldn't be that upset. That said, the house is located in a great location; easy access to E. Hampton, Sag, Montauk. Beach is a lovely 8-10 minute walk which served well pre-dinner. For dinner: 1770 (go a few times), Nick + Tonis (go a few times), Le Bilboquet, East Hampton Grill, Pierre's. For lunch: Toppers, Pierre's, The Point Grill (Montauk - rustic, but very good American pub food). Deli/Bakeries: Loaves + Fishes, Carissa. Grocery: Cavaniola, Citarella.”
