September 2023Gorgeous Pool & Idyllic Setting!
We had an amazing visit to this beautiful home with possibly one of the most gorgeous pools ever. Lovely decor and great floor plan made this a truly wonderful place to return to after a nice walk down the lane to pick up morning coffee at Jack's or go the other direction and hit the beach. So lucky to have had the opportunity to spend a week in this idyllic setting!”

June 2022Love Amagansett! LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
Location, location, location. Unreal location in the heart of Amagansett. 5 minute walk to the town and its numerous restaurants, 10 minute walk to a beautiful beach. The pool was gorgeous with beautiful landscaping. The only caution with this is if you have little children, you have to be very attentive as there is no fence around the pool. We were allowed to bring our miniature poodle who had an amazing time in the well fenced and private yard. The house was beautiful, and perfect for an older family or all adults. The only small negatives were, no cable TV, you have this Roku type TV and only 1 of them at that. So we had a week without TV which wasn't as bad as I thought at the beginning. Overall this is a great home which we loved and would love to go back someday. Also terrific owners, who were very attentive to all of our needs.”

November 2021A Keyless Stay
As prefaced, we enjoyed a week at Hedges Lane as keyless guests, so in general is was lovely. Had we expensed considerable keys, we would have expected a bit more in terms of the residence itself and would have rated it fewer stars. Namely, we found ourselves without an ironing board, small toiletries in the bathrooms, and a bit more cleaning needing to have been done. Not the end of the world and perhaps this property is geared more toward extended stay guests that travel with these items, as well as separate cleaning service. We made do and did so without much pain. The downstairs master is by far the most desirable bedroom; the home really serves well for a couple on holiday or a family with small kids; as two couples, we felt a bit guilty in making room selections as even the second largest bedroom was considerably less desirable than the master. House rules and communication are generally clear; Owner remained in contact throughout our stay, responding very quickly when messaged. One rather egregious issue was the pet-policy. Residence page, as well as other rental sites for the property, indicate "pets with approval". We reached out well in advance for approval of a legitimate service dog and said request was denied on account that the Owner is allergic to dogs. What was upsetting is that the home - including the Dyson vacuum that had not been emptied since its last use - showed signs that a pet(s) very much enjoyed the home as well. And if it wasn't a dog, not sure how many persons travel with other types of pets, let alone a legitimate service pet. Water under the bridge at this point; it just felt very misleading to advertise everywhere possible and deny the request. Perhaps the Owner made a judgement call based on my profile and assumed we might be a rowdy bunch, so best not extend too many curtesies like pets, fireplace, etc. When we share our rental properties on ThirdHome, we try to do the opposite of treating them as rental guests and instead treat them as if the were Owners; to each their own. Again, it was a keyless stay so we really couldn't be that upset. That said, the house is located in a great location; easy access to E. Hampton, Sag, Montauk. Beach is a lovely 8-10 minute walk which served well pre-dinner. For dinner: 1770 (go a few times), Nick + Tonis (go a few times), Le Bilboquet, East Hampton Grill, Pierre's. For lunch: Toppers, Pierre's, The Point Grill (Montauk - rustic, but very good American pub food). Deli/Bakeries: Loaves + Fishes, Carissa. Grocery: Cavaniola, Citarella.”
