August 2024Peaceful Getaway
The home and setting were the epitome of serenity. From the beauty of the home itself to the framing of the home by the tall pines, it was easy to feel both welcome and at ease. Great location overall in the Blue Ridge mountains. This was our second visit to the Mountain Club at Cashiers and it did not disappoint.”

June 2021Engulfed by nature!
The house was just so wonderful. Every window was filled with trees. Felt like we were staying in a treehouse! The inside was just as great. Beautiful and so comfortable. Very well stocked. We enjoyed the club house - hot tub, steam room and even cocktail night. The staff was just super. Linda & Rachael were just awesome to deal with. Available to answer all questions & make excellent suggestions. The area was just beautiful. Will be going back! ”

June 2019Great stay in the Smokies
We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay in this luxury lodge at the Mountain Club outside of Sapphire NC. Nature is serene, and there are plentiful hiking trails for all age groups and abilities, many with spectacular waterfalls. Several nearby communities to explore with unique shops and restaurants. Grocery store nearby in Cashiers. The lodge is well appointed with several decks including one screened in deck off the main living area. The only two drawbacks, and these are relative; almost non existent cell service (which becomes a navigation problem.... you may want to invest in an old fashioned paper map of the area), and poor internet connectivity (DSL) in the lodge. We will definite repeat as there is lots more to explore in the area!”

July 2018Hiking Adventures
My family had an amazing time in the Cashiers/Highlands area. This mountain home was a perfect starting point for all of our outdoor adventures. It was so lovely to relax inside the screened porch enjoying the cool summer air. Our days were spent hiking to amazing waterfalls and relaxing poolside before heading into town for a lovely dinner or sitting fireside roasting marshmallows.”

August 2016Mountain Club at Cashiers
Great house and location. My family and friends enjoyed the stay , the house was wonderful - screened porch, wrap around decks, fully furnished with everything you would need. In addition, the mountain club house had a pool, steam room, sauna room, hot tub , swimming pool, pool table, dart board, games and full bar for our enjoyment at no additional cost. We definitely plan on a return trip to this wonderful location that was very close to fine dinning , shopping and sight seeing.”

We loved the location for shopping and dining in nearby Cashiers and Highlands. The home was well appointed and laid out for 3 couples. Golf and tennis were also easily accessible. If you go the Canyon Kitchen is a must. ”

July 2016Wonderful *mountain* house!!
This was a lovely and spacious house. There is lots to do in the area. Most of the kids took hikes everyday, played golf, shopped, or spent time at the pool. The concierge service was terrific. They stocked the kitcen for us so that we did not have to go to the grocery store as soon as we arrived. The house was well appointed with lovely linens, towels, and toiletries. We enjoyed the screened porch very much. The pictures don't do justice to the house. It is really a wonderful *mountain* house!! We loved it and would go back!!”

October 2015What a wonderful property and location...glorious views...waterfalls
The home was just beautiful with a chefs kitchen, master bedroom steam shower, and great fireplace. We were greeted with fresh flowers and starter coffee, drinks and water. The location was unbelievable with so many hiking and waterfall trips. The resort offered several trips by bus, train etc for very reasonable amounts. We did some of these and enjoyed them tremendously. Highlands is very near so much shopping and dining. We will definitely return. I also want to thank Jane at Sapphire Resort for making our stay fabulous. Deborah and Scott Stone”

Mountain Club property was very spacious and comfortable and the welcoming team offered any and all assistance needed. We look forward to visiting again soon.”

April 2015Beautiful Place
Had a great stay at the Mountain Club. The Mouintain Club is a group of 10 homes or so with a clubhouse in the town of Cashiers North Carolina. The homes are fractional ownership of 4 or 8 weeks per owner. They were built around 2005 and are very spacious, well maintained, and comfortable. The clubhouse has an outdoor pool and hot tub and a pool table and serve yourself, well stocked honor bar. The desk at the clubhouse is open during business hours and Jane was very helpful arranging golf times, providing suggestions about where to eat, what to do, and providing discount tickets to attractions like the Biltmore estate which is a must see. They also own property at a larger property (Sapphire) across the street that gives Mountain Club owners the right to use their facility which has an indoor pool, rec center with ping pong and billiards. The rec center rents movies. Sapphire has a very small downhill ski hill and a nice restaurant, Mica's. The season in the area is May 1 to October. We were there just before the official season so it was not crowded at all but some restaurants and golf courses were not yet open. We managed to play golf three days at three different courses. The courses are beautiful with views that can stand up to pebble beach or any other course. The cost was very reasonable, about $50 for 18 holes with a cart but prices will double to more normal rates in season. Each day there were no golfers in front of us or behind us and it felt like we had the whole course to ourselves. The town center of Cashiers is a couple miles up the road from the Mountain Club and has a great full size grocery store. The area has miles and miles of beautiful hiking trails with many waterfalls. There is a guide in the house that describes all of the trails. We are not much of a hiking family but we really enjoyed taking a few short hikes to a few waterfalls that were close to the road. We tried to drive to the top of a mountain for a short hike with a reported great view but the dirt road was blocked by a fallen tree and required an exciting 15 point turn to get our SUV turned around and headed back down. I would highly recommend the Mountain Club for a vacation especially if you like hiking and golf.”

December 2014Relaxation in the woods
Extremely relaxing and laid back. Nestled in the woods. Off-season so many of the restaurants were closed for the season. Staff was very friendly and helpful.”

November 2014Mrs. Lucy Locke From Villa La Estanica, Nuevo Vallarta, MX - Reviewed Her Stay
My family greatly enjoyed our trip to the Mountain Club in Cashiers, NC for Thanksgiving. I was here for a ladies' trip in August and I wanted to return for my family to experience the lovely and peaceful area. We were welcomed with fresh flowers and music to set the tone for our stay. The concierges are so friendly and helpful with any reservations and questions. The album in the house is the most organized I have seen for any detail concerning the house, surrounding area, and activities. It includes restaurants and phone numbers, exactly how to operate each TV and audio video equipment in the house and much more The upstairs master has a steam shower that my husband especially enjoyed after a morning of fly fishing. Highlands is nearby for more shopping and restaurants. Hiking is also wonderful with many beautiful waterfalls. The house is tastefully appointed in classic mountain NC style. Lucy Locke”

The Brokaws review of the Mountain Club at Cashiers, North Carolina
After a year that saw my daughter leave home for boarding school and our aging parents fight off serious illnesses, we wanted to take a vacation to the mountains. We didn’t want to spend a ton of money though so we booked through 3rd Home. Serendipitously, we found the deal for two weeks back-to-back at The Mountain Club at Cashiers, NC. When we arrived the cabin was absolutely AMAZING: clean, quaint, cozy, but perfectly apportioned and decorated with fine finishing touches! With a huge wrap around deck, screened in porch, massive rooms and spiffy new bathrooms (I don’t want to spoil the great steamy surprise) the cabin was really much more like a mansion in the woods. It was all a dream come true! We spent two amazing weeks cuddling next to a warm fire, relaxing in a hot tub, and watching the abundance of wildlife wandering through the woods around us. The main lodge with a gorgeous game room, old-English pub bar and new-equipment filled gym made the perfect complement to pool and patio surrounded by pines and perfectly manicured plants. The best part about everything was the turned off iphones (although the Wifi service was still wonderful to have unfettered access to)! Disconnecting from the hustle and bustle was amazing. My only qualms were that I had to leave to go home, which was disheartening. But we can’t wait to go back, again and again and again. ”

August 2014So COOL!
We left 90+ degree weather south of Atlanta to drive through the most beautiful mountains and into this wonderfully cool and sunny mountain area. We just watched the temperature drop! Even the occasional afternoon showers just made it smell wonderful. We were greeted with soft music and lighting, fresh flowers on the dining table, bottled water and soft drinks in the refrigerator of a well appointed cabin décor...if you can even call it a cabin? The area has great restaurants and is so close to Cashiers for shopping and not too far from Highlands. The cocktail party for the owners was offered to us in the clubhouse overlooking the pool. We met such nice people and we really are planning to return in the Fall. The owners are so friendly and accommodating for an added bonus! ”

Beautiful location
The Mountain Club at Cashiers is located in the beautiful mountains of Western Carolina. These homes are beautifully furnished and I enjoyed the big fireplace in the living room since it was cool outside. The wrap – around porches are perfect for enjoying the cool mountain air and the rhododendron and mountain laurel are everywhere. The towns of Highlands and Cashiers are so charming and there is amazing golf, hiking and fishing. I definitely plan to return. ”
