Authentic Maison Provençale

1 - 3 Keys 2 Bedrooms 4 Guests 2 baths

Description

Embedded within the Medieval walls of the upper and old town of Rasteau, the Authentic Maison Provençale offers among the best panoramic views of the region, over the vineyards to the Mont Ventoux, the Dentelles de Montmirail ridge, and the wine-making villages of Séguret, Sablet and Gigondas. Fields of lavender, olive groves, orchards, oak and pine forests, these are the landscapes you will be able to admire on your journey in the heart of the French region of Provence.

Enter this three-floor property through a fully-equipped Provençale cuisine, next to a salon on the main floor, and walk up to the master bedroom with a king size bed and ensuite with shoeer, as well as a large bedroom boasting two single beds with bathroom next door with a deep bathtub.

In addition to the large living room on the top floor adjoining the terrace, this townhouse incorporates traditional elements, such as beams, doors and fireplaces from the 17th and 18th centuries, along with thick walls which will keep you cool in summer and cozy in the winter.

This 'maison de village' boasts a shaded garden with dining for up to six under an old olive tree.

With its well-known AOC wines (Appellation d'origine contrôlée), Rasteau is a traditional winemaking village, close to many excellent wineries and provençal markets, with many charming villages, cycling routes and walking trails nearby. Explore near-by wine-making villages of Cairanne, Vacquėras and Gigondas as well as the charming medieval town and Roman ruins of Vaison-la-Romaine, among the most important archaeological sites in France.

Also famous for its Roman remains, the “city of Princes” of Orange is only a short 20-minutes drive away, and is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Monuments, the Triumphal Arch and the Roman Theatre, among the best preserved Roman theaters in the world, site of an annual summer music festival.

Fourty minutes South is spectacular Avignon, whose old city is clustered within impressive medieval walls includes the stunning UNESCO-listed “Palais des Papes” (papal palace) that was the residence of seven Popes during the 14th century. The city is known as a center of art and culture and hosts a wide variety of festivals and events throughout the year, from the popular summertime Jazz Festival to a traditional Christmas market in December.
