Base Camp Lodge
Winter Park, Colorado
Discover an outdoor adventure haven that welcomes visitors year-round, with its family friendly soft-power ski runs, scenic backcountry hiking trails, lush green meadows, pristine rushing rivers and serene beauty found within its Continental Divide setting - explore Winter Park! In winter season, this wonderland provides the enjoyment of exploring its varied terrains and valleys whether on skis, snowmobiles, snowshoes or dog sleds. In the other glorious seasons, take to the beautiful rivers or lakes to enjoy fishing, biking, hiking, boating and kayaking, trail ride by horseback or venture out on a mountain bike to take in its 600 miles of trails (Winter Park is of course The Mountain Bike Capital of the U.S.). For music enthusiasts, there are many outdoor events and festivals, including tempting artisan beer, wine and food fests, not to mention the creative art community that beckons all who wish to wander about its inviting landscape.
Escape within the prime recreational setting with the Rocky Moutain National Park at your doorstep, as you dwell in this luxury 3200-sq ft residence. Showcasing a unique interior layout of multiple common-living spaces on two levels, high-end craftmanship including granite countertops, wooden cabinetry and fine detailing throughout, including hardwood flooring and a stone-laid fireplace, Base Camp 494 is the ultimate mountain retreat to escape into. Take in the magnificent views from its tall picture windows as you immerse yourself into the beautiful western-chic decor of the Living Room; gather together here with family and friends in front of the fire with your favorite hot toddy or cocktail; lounge on the plush leather furnishings with cozy fur blankets and channel up your favorite shows and movies on the large Smart TV. For those who wear the aprons in the household, they can enjoy playing chef in the professional state-of-the-art kitchen with updated appliances and every gadget imaginable; enjoy meal times around the dining room table that seats up to ten people or flow over onto the leather bar stools at the kitchen island. If work demands pop up, step into the wooden office balcony-nook to catch-up on emails, perhaps work on your novel or research recipes from your laptop here. From the kitchen, guests can access the wonderful hot-tub out on the small deck and take in the beautiful nature views with a glass of bubbly or wine, and enjoy grilling out and dining al fresco. There is also another lovely deck-lounge area to enjoy relaxing and watching the sunsets or sunrises, or sip your morning coffee from.
Upstairs, guests can choose from three fantastic bedrooms - the King Master bedroom features a two-way fireplace that overflows into the expansive master bathroom with a soaking tub and separate walk-in shower with double vanity sink area; in addition, this upper floor offers two other bedrooms, one that has two queen beds with a full private bathroom. The other has twin over twin and twin over full bunk beds for children in the group with a separate bathroom down the hallway. Downstairs on the main lower level there is an additional guest bedroom with a King Bed with a shared bathroom; guests can access this bathroom from the second smaller living room that is perfect for children or guests that might want or require more privacy to relax and watch tv separate from the those in the larger living room. For additional sleeping guests, the queen sofa makes into a sleeper in the additional living-lounge.
Another big perk to guests is that this residence is ski-in/ski-out from its back door, with just a short walk down a path (about 150-yds with steps) to the Corridor ski trail that leads down to the Winter Park Resort base area and village. Free shuttle service to the base of the resort is a few steps from the front door. Also onsite parking for one vehicle in a secured garage and one in the driveway is available to guests. Any additional vehicles will require being parked off-site.

Wonderful stay at Base Camp Lodge
We had an amazing stay at Base Camp! The home was quiet, comfortable and beautifully decorated with plenty of room for our family. We skied Winter Park and enjoyed the walkable access to the nearest run but, because we had our younger kids, we used the shuttle bus to return home at the end of the day which was also easy. We were close to other activities and restaurants too. Liz was wonderful to deal with and reminded us to secure ski reservations and answered all of our questions. We loved our stay in Winter Park at Base Camp and would love to stay again!”
