Yes, Steamboat Springs is known as Ski Town USA®, and for a good reason. However, downhill skiing is just the beginning of what this valley has to offer. There are a variety of winter activities and adventures to broaden your horizons and get the whole family excited for another winter season.

Our home is located up the mountain, about 8000 ft. You will see Bears and Moose in the area.

Steamboat Springs offers an array of activities for kids any time of year. In the winter months, Tubing Steamboat and Old Town Hot Springs offer thrills and spills on the snow and in the water. RESTAURANTS
Steamboat has some great restaurants. It really depends on what you like. On the mountain, you have a couple of good choices. Cafe Diva is generally regarded as one of the nicest in town. A little fancy for me when I am with kids but really good. Saketumi has great sushi. At the base, you can have a drink at the Truffled Pig - good food and fun, or you can get some Elk Fajitas at La Mantana. If you feel like pizza, try Blue Sage Pizza.
Heading on into town, you have some real winners. My favorite is Bistro C.V. - terrific locally farmed foods, always fresh. I love the Burger with foie gras. For an authentic cowboy bar with great BBQ, try Double Z at the edge of
town. There are some great breakfast joints as well. Creekside Cafe, Winona's and Freshies are all great choices. For some great sandwiches, try Back Country Provisions - my kids' favorite. Mambo Italiano is a
nice little Italian joint. Rio Grande has good Mexican food and great margaritas.
