Villa Bellissima Alba
Villa Bellissima Alba
Situated on 40 acres in northern Napa Valley, this Tuscan stone farmhouse will make you feel as if you were transported to the Italian countryside with rolling hills and manicured vineyards. The estate lies next to Peter Michael Vineyard in the stunning Knights Valley appellation—the easternmost, warmest AVA in Sonoma County with the Mayacamas mountain range and Mount St. Helena as its backdrop. Its warm climate and rocky volcanic soil produce highly acclaimed, age-worthy Cabernet with an opulent flavor blend. But there’s more to Calistoga than world-class wines; it’s also home to a number of resort spas where visitors can soak in world-renowned, mineral-rich hot springs and volcanic mud baths.
An iron gate opens and welcomes you to Villa Bellissima Alba—a worldly retreat in the heart of this prestigious wine country. Surrounded by gardens, the property boasts an exceptional outdoor space with a 75-foot lap pool, a bocce ball court, and an outdoor kitchen set among aged olive and fig trees. It offers three master suites with private balconies and a spacious, finished basement suite.
The home features a sizable gourmet kitchen with Viking appliances, granite countertops, and an island with bar seating for three. Beamed ceilings flow throughout the main living area, adding depth and rustic charm to the dining room and parlor, where French doors lead you onto the back deck to soak up exposures of Mount St. Helena. The family room provides a comfortable and charming place to relax. It features a wood-burning fireplace, flatscreen TV, and oversized chairs that convert into beds. A winding grand staircase takes you upstairs to the library, where natural light pours through the windows and illuminates the pages of the novel you choose to get lost in.
Down the hall, the charming master suite includes a king bed, cozy sitting area, and French doors that open to your private balcony. The master bathroom is draped in gorgeous tile and features a soaking tub, walk-in shower, and dual vanity. There are two guest rooms on this floor, one with a king bed and one with a queen. They both have private balconies and their own full bathroom. The finished basement is where you will find the final suite with a king bed, an elegant sitting area, and a half bath.
Enjoy all of the pleasures that the property’s outdoor space has to offer as you surround yourself with awe-inspiring mountains and vineyards. Its most unique feature is the bocce ball court, although rather fitting for its setting given that bocce is also known as Italian lawn bowling. After a day touring wineries and vineyards, relax poolside or cool off in the 75-foot lap pool. End each day dining under the olive trees with glasses of Les Pavots—the crown jewel of the neighboring Peter Michael Winery.
The pool is only heated from May-October.
Uber, Lyft, and taxis are not abundant in the area. A preordered car service or driver is recommended.
