Description

Stunning Newfoundland Seaside Retreat

Set your sights on a stunning seaside retreat nestled on the rugged and majestic east coast of Newfoundland. This wonderful three-bedroom home is situated in Brigus—a quaint fishing town in Conception Bay. Positioned around a sheltered harbor and surrounded by hills, Brigus is defined by its picture-postcard townscape redolent of an old English village with rustic stone walls and winding narrow lanes. In recent years, Brigus has become well loved from far and wide due to the HGTV series, Rock Solid Builds.

This is truly a one-of-a-kind property in a one-of-a-kind place! You can enjoy the endless view of the rugged coastline and the Atlantic ocean or the picturesque and colorful town of Brigus. Our 2100 square foot seaside retreat boasts high vaulted ceilings and an open staircase that spans three floors. All the walls and ceilings are wood shiplap, painted white or whitewashed, making it bright and welcoming. You can smell the fresh wooden scent when you walk in the front door!

Home-style comforts abound; Our walls have been decorated with original nautical and colorful local Newfoundland artwork, and there are three propane fireplaces to keep warm and cozy if you are visiting during the colder weather. On the main level, you’ll find a state-of-the-art kitchen complete with stainless steel appliances and a gorgeous dining area complemented by floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water.

The upper level encompasses the master bedroom and master bathroom, a guest bedroom, and the laundry room. The master features a luxurious king bed, vaulted ceilings, propane fireplace, ensuite with clawfoot bathtub, and best of all, a private balcony. The lovely guest bedroom has a double bed, high sloped ceilings, and views of the ocean. There is a cozy third bedroom on the lower level with four bunks—a double and three singles. This level also flaunts a TV room and a well-appointed bar area.

This seaside retreat offers four decks, so whether you are craving a sunny place to drink your morning coffee with a view to the ocean, or a sunny area for evening cocktail hour, we have you covered. Outside, the grounds are finished off with rock walls and gardens. It is truly a space to reenergize and relax and simply breathe in the fresh air, put your feet up, and let your troubles melt away.

Prepare to be amazed by the abundance of sights to see and things to do! The best months to visit Newfoundland are June - September. But mother nature does have a sense of humor here on the Rock, so even in these months the weather can be unpredictable. June is a popular time for iceberg viewing and June and July are excellent months to go whale watching (Newfoundland and Labrador boast the world’s largest population of humpback whales!) There's plenty of hiking and festivals and museums and historical sites to keep you busy.

Beautiful, just as described.

Really lovely home, in a very quaint quiet little town. The home is very well equipped, and comfortable. May is a very cold and windy time in NF though, so we hope to return another year in July or August to enjoy the outdoor facilities. There are a lot of places to visit with the home as a jumping off point. Homeowner was very kind and easy to communicate with. ”

Family trip to Brigus & St John’s Newfoundland

This home is spotless, modern, comfortable, and idyllic for anyone wanting a quiet seaside escape with a view. No sandy beaches, but rather a classic fishing village on the North Atlantic, very close to the oldest English settlement in Canada (1610). Easy day trip to St John’s (1 hr away), easy drives along the beautiful coast, with some significant WWII history sites. Whale and Puffin watching boat trip was a highlight (no icebergs during our stay, though). Owner is great to work with.”
