Description

The Outpost

This incredible five-bedroom home is somewhere wonderful out in the middle of nowhere in Australia's Yaouk Valley in New South Wales. The Outpost is surrounded by mountains and located on a scenic partly unsealed road through the Namadgi National Park. Famous for fly fishing, hiking, horse riding, and snow skiing, this multi-seasonal setting is made for dreams to manifest. The nearest village is a picturesque twenty-five minutes away, in a charming place called Adaminaby. The land on which the home sits is the perfect place to view native Australian animals, including platypus, kangaroos, wallabies, echidna, wombats, and birds of all kinds.

The marvelous wildlife is only part of the many reasons you will fall in love with this storybook location. The home itself is a vision. The beautiful details are pristine and refreshing, with natural light flowing through the wall-to-wall windows. The stone fireplace is stunning and creates a warmth within the spacious den with desirable high ceilings and plenty of cozy seats for the entire family. The room also boasts a television and panoramic views of the land.

The kitchen is large and luxurious, with high-end finishes and chef-grade appliances. Slate countertops and white cabinets compliment each other nicely. The dining room is designed for inclusion and lovely family meals where you can share stories from the day.

Each bedroom is spacious and comfortable, offering fresh linens and plush mattresses. Four of the five bedrooms have their own en suite bathroom. Bedrooms One and Two boast king-sized mattresses. Bedroom Three has two King Singles. Bedroom Four has two Long Singles that can be converted into a King, and Bedroom Five has two Singles allowing ten people to sleep with ease.

Make your way back outside and explore the luscious land and all it has to offer. During the Summer months, feel free to swim in the clean and pure waters of the Murrumbidgee River. The fresh air and peaceful surroundings will cleanse your soul and leave you wanting more of this treasured territory. 2.5 km of the river runs through the property with spectacular wild brown and rainbow trout perfect for river fishing beginning the first weekend of October until the first weekend of June. Horse riding through the mountains is famous and Cochran Horsetreks is not more than five minutes from the front gate of the home.

The Yaouk Peak looms directly behind the home and is a marked 1 ½ hour walk (one way) from the saddle on the property's boundary to the top and provides majestic views of the valley and beyond Mount Kosciuszko. Mount Morgan, Mount Scabby, and Sentry Box hill are nearby, perfect for more adventures for walking and nature enthusiasts.

Winter allows for cozy days by the fire to enjoy the stillness of the falling snow. Mount Selwyn is the closest skifield, only 45 minutes away. Selwyn Snow Resort has just undergone renovations with brand new features, upgrades, and expansions. The base elevation is 1,492 meters with a top elevation of 1,614 meters with runs perfect for beginners and children. For more advanced skiing, the homeowners recommend Perisher or Thredbo, about a two-hour drive.

Pack your walking shoes, tennis racquets, fishing gear, and more, and get ready for true peace of mind and the adventure of a lifetime!
