This piece of real estate in Sardinia is a short drive away from the nearest beaches and restaurants – and there are many to choose from in Porto Rotondo. Porto Cervo in the Costa Smeralda is a little further afield but the drive up the coast provides some delightful views – especially over the coves of Cala di Volpe.

Further afield is Porto Cervo in Costa Smeralda, the heart of the international scene. Stroll along the quay lined with designer boutiques on one side and luxury yachts on the other. As you head back, you'll pass San Pantaleo, a characteristic village perched on granite rocks shaped in varied and interesting ways.

For oenophiles, sample Sardinian wines from different regions: the Sella e Mosca from Alghero, the sweet Malvasia from Bosa, the crisp white Vermentino from Gallura, or the strong, ruby red Nepente from Oliena. And for foodies, the island has plenty on offer: from the simplest agritourism to the most glamorous restaurants in Porto Cervo.

Alongside Porto Cervo, Porto Rotondo is considered one of Sardinia's most sought-after resorts, and a favorite playground of the jet setters. But while the world's biggest and best yachts, fine restaurants, and designer boutiques can be found here, there's more to Porto Rotondo than a shiny patina. It's also home to numerous architectural feats, including the Piazzetta, created entirely in local stone, the granite amphitheater, and the Church of San Lorenzo.
