Unique House, great location with plenty of room

The Costa Rica Tropical Villa overall is a great house, but it has a few small issues that should be addressed to make it amazing. I should note, however, that none of these prevented us from having an amazing stay. First off, the house is essentially one huge room. The bedrooms have no walls and are open to the rest of the house. The only actual privacy is in the 1 downstairs bathroom that actually has 4 walls and a door. The house also has no towel racks. We were stuck with wet towels the entire week. The kitchen had only 4 forks when we arrived (for 6 guests). The two sets of stairs that lead to the upstairs rooms have no railings and are open on one side, so if you plan on traveling here with children, please note that huge safety issue. The house does not have wi-fi even though were were told that it did. There is also no landline phone at the house even though were were told that it had one. The flat screen tv's are nice, but the satellite tv was turned off (who wants to watch tv on vacation anyways?). There is a dishwasher, but dishwashing soap can only be purchased in San Jose, which is 5 hours away. We did however get maid service, so doing the dishes was never an issue. The Villa is owned by the Tambor Tropical Resort, so you are essentially guests at the resort during your stay, which is very helpful. You check in at the resort and get your keys, and have full use of the pool, restaurant and beach at the resort. Juan Carlos, the manager of the resort is essentially the nicest man in the world, and will make sure your stay is perfect and get you anything that you need at the house while you are there. This area of Costa Rica is very remote, so plan on renting a car. I also highly recommend going on one of the many tours the Tambor Tropical offers as they were all very fun. Our group was only the 2nd or 3rd to stay in this house since the resort bought it, so I am sure many of the small issues will be resolved now that they know about them. The house is absolutely gorgeous and gigantic. The neighborhood is super safe and the few houses around it all have super nice neighbors. There is also a security guard at night which is not mentioned in the house details. I gave the house 4 stars because despite the smallish problems, the house is very nice, in a great location and I can't say enough nice things about Juan Carlos, the manager of the resort. ”
