The property is fantastic and as advertised. The owner has done an outstanding job in renovating what had been a shell of a building. We had only one issue; the property manager. Days before our arrival he changed the check-in and out times to 5pm and 10 am. I had family coming with small children who had booked flights to arrive at the posted times. We had also arranged for a chef (managers mother who was fantastic) for 7 pm dinner so we were rushed through unpacking and getting ready for dinner. We had a heavy rain the first day and the roof leaked in a number of places and the property manager did not respond to a text. We had a septic smell in one of the bedrooms the following morning and texted again only to be told that he was on vacation that week and checking his cell infrequently. His solution was “don’t use that bedroom”. The cleaning crew and grass cutting crew showed up at 8 am on the day of departure. Again it was his mother who was fantastic but they really made the check out rushed and uncomfortable. I felt that if we had been a paying customer vs having paid with keys; we would have been treated differently. I am not sure if the owner was aware of his property managers vacation but arrangements should have been made for us. The listing said there was a concierge however it was the same absent property manager. When I texted for restaurant suggestions and help he was useless. Other then that we had a great time. The home has a great deal of charm and character. ”
