The Yucatán Peninsula separates the Gulf of Mexico from the Caribbean Sea and encompasses three Mexican states, plus portions of Belize and Guatemala. The area is home to quite a few swimming holes. These cenotes, or underground sinkholes, are very cool and ready to be explored and swam in for those searching for a new adventure to check off their bucket list. The city has an interesting history and is home to many notable churches and monuments.
