Description

Lagnes is a beautiful small village in the Vaucluse department and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
Fontaine de Vaucluse is best known for being now a major holiday destination.
The beauty of the town has inspired plenty of writers and poets over the years; several museums in Fontaine de Vaucluse showcase the history and culture of the area and its surrounds. This Provençal town offers visitors a variety of terraces and restaurants that line both sides of the River Sorgue in the heart of town. To enjoy themselves in the local gastronomy, a must-do for gourmands!
This charming and comfortable farmhouse has a long history. It dates back to 1706. It has been carefully restored and prepared to welcome and delight guests. The property sits in the heart of the fields, just a few kilometres from famous touristic sites such as Avignon, L'Isle-Sur-la-Sorgue, Gordes or Fontaine-de-Vaucluse.
The rooms feature a traditional and beautiful Provence countryside style.
Each differs by design and colour, but they all keep the French rustic atmosphere and spirit. The bedrooms are non-smoking and located on the ground floor, with a private entrance from the garden and a private terrace facing either the pool or the garden. A spacious Suite on the ground floor with remote access from the park and decorated in the provincial style is ideal for a couple or a small family with a maximum of two adults and two children.
The summer kitchenette is close to the swimming pool, completely equipped and accessible for all guests. Having breakfast outside by the fountain is a true pleasure during warmer days.
The outside areas feature large green areas, an outdoor kitchen, a lounge area and a pool. Perfect to have a swim during hot days and refresh yourself while relaxing with a nice glass of wine by the gardens.

Perfect for a group of families (we had 20 people total)

We had a lovely week in July at this home situated in the heart of Luberon. It was a 20 minute drive from a dozen of the most beautiful villages https://www.lelongweekend.com/most-beautiful-villages-of-provence-france-a-locals-guide/. We also hit Arles, Avignon, and the Notre Dame Abbaye. Since we had 20 folks, we ate most dinners at the home where there is ample room. We hung out by the pool most afternoons. There are excellent vineyards and Michelin star restaurants nearby. We spent the next week down in Cannes which is a few hours away. We hope to return to Mas de Shogol some day. David & Kristin”

Wonderful property, location and host

Our group of eight thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this this 300+ year old French farmhouse which has been modernized while retaining all of its rustic charm. We entered through the private gate to find the refrigerator stocked with many items, totally unexpected and most appreciated. Attached to the the main house (with its seven bedrooms including a three bedroom apartment) is a separate wing with three bedrooms which allows privacy for several families or couples. Each room has an en suite bathroom and air conditioning. The house has thick sone walls so even on a few days when the temperatures approached 90 degrees the public rooms in the house remained comfortable with the doors and windows closed. There are many seating areas on the property and we often enjoyed lunch out the front under the two glorious shade trees. You could not ask for a better Provencal location, less than one mile from a boulangerie/patisserie and surrounded by numerous hilltop villages and wineries, all within a 10-40 minute drive. The pool area is gorgeous and was used every day at the end of June. The host Sarah and property manager Angelique were so helpful with recommendations of local attractions, wineries, and restaurants; there is even a suggested seven day itinerary to enjoy all the area has to offer. Angelique was always available and immediately responsive to any questions or requests. So much room and so much charm, highly recommended. Magnifique! ”
