The outdoor spaces are perfect for wandering and exploring, enjoying picnics outside and visiting the nearby cities and natural parks. Sydney is within a short distance drive, offering various activities and places of interest to discover, ideal for all tastes and ages!

The Estate is in a premium region location, with stunning mountain views and direct walking access to Wentworth Falls, Empress Canyon, and magical lookouts.

At Carramar, you will feel like you are on a true country retreat, but you are only 8 minutes to Katoomba and 6 minutes to Leura Mall.

It has 12 foot high ceilings, crystal chandeliers and many beautiful Heritage-listed features. It has been beautifully appointed with new furnishings, original Australian artworks and luxe details for your stay.

There is a huge 2 acre garden all around the estate, making it utterly private, with your own fields and forest to picnic in and lawns large enough for croquet or cricket.

The only sounds you will hear in this private sanctuary on the edge of the Blue Mountains National Park/Jamison valley are the birdsongs and the wind through the 100 year old trees.

Carramar Main House has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, full top-notch chef’s kitchen, dining room, outdoor dining areas (2), laundry, 2 decks, verandahs and a large patio.

  • The base of the upper falls - A fabulous view where you can feel the spray. The walk is absolutely jaw dropping, with some of the best vistas in the whole national park.

Historical charm set in a fantastic location

We enjoyed our stay at Carramar, a wonderful old house perched at the edge of the cliffs and at the beginning of many hiking trails. The bedrooms were very comfortable and we had good usage of the kitchen which combines antiquity with practical and convenient amenities. We even enjoyed an evening with a wood fire burning in the fireplace. The outside jacuzzi was a treat: it is well situated near the house but sheltered by trees and bushes and with a view over the mountains. It is quite romantic when the fog is streaming in. We were particularly taken by the presence of a family of Lyrebirds in the yard, with a juvenile male learning his craft. And when we did not feel like cooking, the proximity to the Conservation Hut was a blessing. Just two minutes walk from the house, it is a cute cafe with gorgeous views, good food and nice service.”
