Beautiful views

The house and the views were amazing. Our biggest gripe was the lack of communication with the managers of the property. We gave them a window for our arrival. The guard at the gate was new, and didn't seem to know we were coming. They had left him the key but he was unaware. We waited an hour for the manager to show up with the key. After a full day of travel we just wanted to get in and relax. Then the wifi password was incorrect. The manager assured us he would text us van after he was done driving but did not. We had little to know signal on our phones so the wifi was necessary. We received the correct password the next day and it worked great! Until the next day. This was a seperate problem with the provider but again we could not reach the hosts. Most of us needed to work in some capacity while on vacation and this really made it a challenge. We loved everything else about the house. And once things were working properly we did not need anything else from the hosts. They need to be a bit more responsive. ”

Amazing week in Guanacaste, Costa Rica

Our family of four had an amazing week at our ThirdHome luxury home in the Guanacasta region. Though this listing says Casa Sol del Mar (CSdM), we actually were notified several weeks in advance of our stay that the home would be undergoing significant exterior excavations, and would not be available. We were well taken care of by thirdhome and the concierge staff at the development in Costa Rica where CSdM is located, and they worked quickly to find alternate accommodations for us. The home they placed us in was just a few doors down from our original booking, and was of a similarly exceptional quality. So, I cannot speak to the specifics of the Casa Sol del Mar listing, but I can tell you that the development it is in is spectacular. Amazing 270 degree ocean views, and we were pleasantly surprised at the amazing beach access that was just a short (under 15 minutes) drive away. And the beaches in the area were so secluded. We had an amazing time- my wife, myself, and our teenaged kids were all equally enamored by our time there. ”

Beautiful home and wonderful views

Our combined group of me, my wife, her parents and a nephew and his family including his wife and three young sons all had a great time! The young boys couldn't wait to get into the beautiful infinity pool every day, and were happy to spend the entire day in it if we let them. Many wonderful beaches and nearby activities as well.”

Beautiful Home with Amazing Views

We loved staying at this home. The views were stunning, the house was beautiful and very clean. It's close to town and the beach. You have everything you need at this house for an amazing vacation. The one thing to know is that you should definitely have a four wheel drive to get to this house. It's on top of a hill and some of the road is steep and unpaved. It's worth the drive though. You will not be disappointed.”

Really Beautiful House Surrounded by Peaceful Nature

I enjoyed my moments that I had to experience the outdoor areas of this house. Most mornings I enjoyed doing Yoga, Stretching, Sunbathing, etc. This house had an operating issue during our stay, so we were relocated to a very nice house within walking distance of Casa Sol Del Mar. It was a nice home. But the house in front was having construction during our stay. Either way, the Host apologized which we appreciated very much and has given us an opportunity to stay at this house in the future which I will look forward to when I can get back there again. Thank you very much for your understanding. ”

Breathtaking views, incredible house

This trip was amazing, we kept pinching ourselves that this was real life. Concierge was responsive and helpful, road leading up was steep but worth the view. Everything I’ve heard about Costa Rica’s roads was true, but we were still happy to have a car. Went to the park across the monkey bar and saw about 45 friendly wild monkeys. Another highlight was Tio Leo’s coffee tour and catamaran ride out of Flamingo marina. Everything is a little drive, but we embraced the slower lifestyle. We also loved having a chef prepare 2 dinners for us at the house. ”

Beautiful Views

The home is set atop a mountain overlooking the ocean so the views are amazing. The pool is very nice and the guest house is a nice addition. It is very very remote and 30 min drive to any restaurants on very rustic roads, many are dirt. So if you are looking to stay at the house and cook at home then it’s great. We have teenagers and it was way too remote for us. The beds are very comfortable. ”

Best Vacation Ever!

Wow what a spectacular property! Our best ever holiday and have created a life time of memories for our adult children and small grandchildren. The layout is perfect for big families!! Everyone had their own privacy and bathroom. The views from Casa Sol, are breathtakingly beautiful overlooking the Pacific Ocean and swimming in the infinity pool was delightful day and night! And we will never forget the incredible sunsets! It’s truly a magical experience in this over the top ranch home. So many fun experiences from enjoying the fabulous beaches, cataman rides at sunset, fishing, waterfall excursion, buying all the great local fruits and fish. Our 5 year old grandson learned to surf in one lesson!! It’s was truly Pura Vida for our Canadian family on March break and we can’t thank you enough for giving this us this fabulous experience!!!”

Beautiful

Absolutely loved our trip. House is beautiful but they do need an electrician to come fix some light and fan issues. Whoever did the electrical work wasn’t very good. Anyhow other than that the stay was beautiful. Joe was very informative as well”

Incredible Ocean views in Costa Rica

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Sol del Mar. The home sits on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean in northern Costa Rica. It was extremely well furnished and comfortable. Great place for a family vacation. A few minor items were promptly taken care of by the owners. Excellent place to spend a week. Definitely need a car to travel to nearby beaches and attractions. ”

Great place to go!!

We had a wonderful time at Casa Sol del Mar in Costa Rica!!  Mely and Joe were awesome (our concierge) and the house was great!  We went Charter fishing, ATV rides, Massages at the house, Visited nearby beaches and relaxed at the pool.  Had chef come in to cook dinner 2 nights.  Great trip. We would love to go back again! ”

Luxury living in the rain forest

Our three generations of family had a wonderful time at Casa Sol del Mar, which is up in the mountains and close to nature. The young boys would have spent the entire time in the beautiful pool if we'd let them. We had a troop of monkeys coming around every few days, along with parrots and variegated squirrels in the surrounding trees. Our host was very attentive when needed. We enjoyed cooking most of our meals in the beautiful kitchen as it's a bit of a drive to go into town just for a meal.”

Amazing Experience

The house is a pictured, clean, and comfortable. The views are amazing. The layout is perfect for a family or friend group trip getaway. You must rent a car with 4WD, the hills are serious or hire a driver while you are there. Cellphone service is spotty on the roads but the house has Wifi coverage so you are good when you are on the property. Perfect place to disconnect and unwind.”

Great Visit

We had a girls trip to Casa Sol Del Mar. it is a lovely home with a fabulous view. The rooms and baths are all very comfortable and nicely appointed. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen as well! Jeff was also a great host! The home is a little remote but the views make it worth it. Many options of close by adventures. Alexa is a very responsive and helpful concierge- she can set up whatever you want to do! I highly recommend Casa Sol Del Mar! Thank you Jeff!”

Casa Sol with breathtaking sunsets!

We just left from a full week family Spring Break! We had an incredible time at casa sol. Jeffrey was so wonderful hosting and assisting us. The house is on a very steep hill but even I (who doesn’t love driving on mountains) felt safe. The home is new construction, very well maintained (no bugs), comfortable beds, full kitchen, high speed internet, working air conditioners in every room, lots of sunlight, clean pool, overall a beautiful property. You will not want to miss any of the sunsets up there! They will take your breath away! We were few a few minutes away from Diamante Adventure Park which made our first day there FULL of adventures! There’s also a spot across from the Monkey Bar where friendly monkeys feed off your hand and climb on you. We had to drive a good 25 minutes to Coco beach and Flamingo beach which the roads were fine and the town was adorable. This was yet another ThirdHome Gem! We made beautiful memories and feel so blessed to be a part of this community. We would totally recommend it and would love to come back one day!! ”

Casa Sol Del Mar, Costa Rica

The home is beautiful, the view is spectacular, overlooking the infinity pool and the Pacific Ocean. We enjoyed the sounds and sights of the wildlife as we sat on the patio having morning coffee...howler monkeys, parakeets, magpie jays, doves, swifts and more species that we did not idenfify. Jeff Norminton and Mark Randall, were quite helpful as was the concierge, Alexa. She arranged a most delightful day trip with Naturalist Gabriel Daniel who led us through the national park and identified species after species of animals, birds, plants and trees. Many beautiful photos taken. The ladies enjoyed the mud baths followed by the warm mineral baths. Diamante Adventure Park is a "must see" and is just a few minutes away. The Park is a clean, well maintained and features monkeys, sloths, tropical birds, jaguars, crocodiles, zip lines, etc. We also had a great day of offshore fishing with the Charter boat "Wishin We Were Fishin" out of Flamingo Marina, catching Mahi Mahi and releasing a beautiful sail fish.. We rented a nice 4 wheel drive Toyota SUV and enjoyed day trips to several beaches (20 to 30 minute drive) and small beach towns. Coco Beach is a fun little town with great beachfront dining. The roads are a bit challenging and the drive up and down the steep mountain a bit intimidating at first, but we quickly became used to them and had no problems as our SUV was up to the challenge. AMAZING VIEW

The house has one of the most beautiful views I have ever seen. The house was equipped with anything you would need and the infinity pool was so refreshing. The location is a little remote so a car is needed to enjoy all of the activities available in the area. I can't say enough about Jeff, our host, who was extremely helpful all week.”

Awesome Place

We brought our friends and their kids here for the week, as well as our daughter. It was perfect!! Amazing views, in the middle of a number of different beaches and other animal farms. The hosts were amazing as well - they helped us with a ton of things!!! Will go back for sure.”

Beautiful views everywhere!

We loved our stay! Jeff, the host, was amazing. The views from this home are incredible, and it's a very relaxing place to stay. You do need a car to fully enjoy the area. We did one full day of guided tours and got to see beautiful waterfalls, sloths, monkeys, vipers and toucans. We also enjoyed a coffee and cocoa tour. We enjoyed Flamingo Beach, Conchal Beach and Tamarindo Beach. Flamingo Beach was our favorite though the younger crowd would enjoy Tamarindo Beach more, I believe.”

Great Secluded Property!

The property is outstanding and well maintained! The views are second to none with extreme privacy. That being said, the location is fairly remote from everything, especially if you plan on eating out. Also, the roads are currently in poor condition as the rainy season has just ended. You will need a vehicle, preferably 4 WD. ”

ON TOP OF THE WORLD

Breathtaking does not describe this stunning property. Zoe met us at the gated entrance. A 7-minute drive winding through the mountain side we arrived at the Casa Sol del Mar. A stunning home equipped with everyday living amenities featuring a large living space, 3 bedrooms, 4 baths. The windows overlooked the serenity pool, lush active jungle and the ocean backdrop created a beautiful sunset view. Thanks to Jeff for being a great host. We were on top of the world. ”

Wonderful!

We loved our stay at Casa Sol Del Mar. The owners were helpful and kind to met me at the gate so I could follow him to the house as the roads are steep. The views from the infinity pool and nearby clubhouse pool are spectacular. It really doesn't get much better than that. The outdoor shower is a dream. Near the gate is an Italian/pizza restaurant that also serves pastries. Just 10 min down the road is Diamante Eco Adventure Park with horseback riding, ATVs, zip lining, and an animal sanctuary. The Mantapalo Beach and Hotel RIU Guanacaste are also there just past the park. The house has the perfect layout with plenty of A/C units and TVs. The Casita is perfect for grandparents, newlyweds, or a nanny with it's own kitchen, bathroom, and queen bed. The location was great- about 30 min from the airport and within an hour of our excursions. We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Sol Del Mar and hope to return soon. ”
