Stunning Stay in an Edinburgh 18th Century Landmark!

My wife and I had a breathtaking arrival and welcome at this incredible property in the heart of Edinburgh's historic West End. Our Hots, Polly greeted us at the front door of the palatial Playfair at Donaldson's...which was originally built in 1850 as a Childrens Hospital and converted to luxury residences in 2014 (see attached link for some wonderful insight on the history of this special place). The flat was amazing- beautifully decorated and appointed with all the modern amenities within this castle like building. The location was perfect- a very short walk from a train /bus/tram stop that can get you everywhere in Old and New Town Edinburgh...or you can walk to great restaurants, shopping and sights. The flat was very comfortable and Polly was such a gracious Host...sharing many great recommendations. We loved our time in Edinburgh....and wish we could have stayed longer. Edinburgh Playfair

Edinburgh is beautiful with a great vibe. This flat offers spacious luxury in an excellent location. We had an excellent and very comfortable stay. Owner is fantastic offerings solid recommendations and beautiful amenities. Walking/running path, groceries, and local pub within 5 minutes walk. 20 minute walk to old town and new town. 10 minutes by bus or tram. Everything to enjoy in Edinburgh. Food, drinks, castles, museums, and loads of festivals. ”

Amazing Castle stay!

When we drove up to the building which houses Polly's flat, we couldn't believe it! We absolutely thought we were staying in a castle. The flat itself is a very comfortable 2 bedroom unit within the "castle". It has a well equipped kitchen and was very comfortable with room enough for the 4 of us (my husband, myself, our daughter and granddaughter). The building is nearby a grocery store and a tram stop which one can use to move throughout the city. Polly was a WONDERFUL hostess..meeting us at the flat to show us around, providing excellent recommendations of things to do and restaurants to enjoy. She was always available for questions by text. This is a stay you won't want to miss when you see the opportunity arise to book this flat in the future. Thank you Polly for giving us wonderful family memories!”

Elegance in Edinburgh!

Polly's flat if fabulous. We flew into Scotland to look at St. Andrew's for our daughter. The flat was amazing. The grounds are stunning and Polly made everything so easy. The location is perfect. This incredible building has quite a history but it was converted into a very high end residential complex. There are brand new additionals along the perimeter of the grounds. Amazing Property

I can't speak highly enough about this flat. The building is so beautiful, the location is perfect...close enough to all the tourist spots, but far enough away that you can relax and just feel at home at the end of the day. Polly was incredibly helpful and accommodating when our delayed and cancelled flight into EDI caused us to arrive a day late. The flat itself is so comfortable, quiet and clean. The kitchen was well equipped and again...the building...just look at the pictures! It really is that amazing! If you are lucky enough to see availability at this flat then don't pause, BOOK IT!”

Dreamy Stay in Edinburgh

There are no words to describe how incredible this stay at Polly's residence at The Playfair was. When you walk up to The Playfair, you feel like you're walking onto a movie set. An absolutely beautiful building on the exterior, and the interior, Polly's unit, could not have been more perfect. Polly's kitchen had all the kitchen necessities needed, she even was thoughtful enough to leave us some coffee and goodies for our stay! The unit was equipped with one full-sized bed and two twin beds so it was perfect for a group of three friends (super comfy beds too!) The Playfair was just a short walk away from the local grocery store, as well as the tram and bus station, so it could not have been easier to get around the beautiful city of Edinburgh! Polly was an absolutely incredible host for us. She was always easy to reach with questions and suggestions and she even recommended incredible spots for us to check out (Arthur's Seat, Badger and Co. etc) If anyone is looking for a dream-like stay in Scotland. What a stunning apartment conversion ! Having grown up in Edinburgh I always admired the old Donaldson's building and now that it has been converted I thoroughly enjoyed spending a week in one of the flats here with my son and his partner. Polly was an exceptional host and was there to meet us and ensure we were all set up to go. And what a treat to have an international rugby match along the road which was just a 10 minute walk - great to be back at Murrayfield ! Thanks Polly - would love to return someday when back in Edinburgh. You can be assured I will be requesting a week !”
