Welcome to Telluride’s Riverside Canyon Villa, an enchanting vacation retreat nestled in the San Miguel River’s forest canyon, just down stream from Telluride, Colorado. This private two-level residence boasts elegance and comfort, providing an idyllic escape for those seeking serenity amidst picturesque surroundings.

With 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and 1 half bath, this 2400-square-foot villa can accommodate up to 6 guests. The Super Queen master bedroom suite, with private deck, the King upstairs bedroom, and the dual purpose alcove twin bed and bunk bedroom with kitchenette and bar, offer cozy accommodations, creating a perfect haven for relaxation. The kitchen features a spacious island with seating for six, and a separate dining area. For larger gatherings, the formal dining room seats an additional six guests, providing an exquisite setting for shared meals.

The living room strikes a balance between coziness and grandeur, boasting vaulted ceilings, a stunning stone fireplace, and an abundance of plush leather seating, inviting everyone to gather and unwind. The south facing, floor-to-ceiling living room wall opens to the San Miguel River directly below and the bare rock cliffs above. It’s patio doors lead out to a spacious riverside deck, where you can bask in the crisp mountain air while taking in the breathtaking mountain canyon and river views. Upstairs, a loft area awaits, complete with a pool table, adjacent alcove lounge, kitchenette, wet bar, and comfortable seating, plus a covered, private deck directly above the amazing mountain river.

The villa extends its allure outdoors, with the lower level deck overlooking the ever-present river, featuring a dining table and gas grill, perfect for alfresco dining and embracing the beauty of the natural surroundings. The amenities are complete with a laundry room, ensuring convenience during your stay.

The wonders of the area are not limited to the villa itself. Just a short distance away lies the beautiful vibrant town of Telluride, which was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1961 for its well-preserved late boom-town architecture. It was founded in 1878, and was a major metals mining center until 1913. The historic district covers 80 acres of downtown Telluride and surrounding residential areas, as well as Lone Tree Cemetery, the town's first cemetery. By walking around Telluride or riding the free gondola to Mountain Village, embark on a gourmet journey savoring the culinary delights these destinations have to offer. Explore other nearby old towns of Ouray and Silverton for charming shopping experiences. Don't miss the opportunity to take the Silverton Mine Tour, delving into the region's rich mining history.

Our mountain canyon offers an amazing range of activities to enrich your vacation experience. Engage in outdoor pursuits such as fishing (even directly from our deck), scenic photography, river rafting, Jeeping, hiking, mountaineering, rock climbing, mountain biking, horse back riding, and world class skiing and ice climbing, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling in the winter months. Discover local art galleries, attend an abundance of festivals (see festival list below), and immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere that Telluride exudes.

Telluride’s Riverside Canyon Villa promises an unforgettable vacation experience, blending luxurious comfort with the allure of Colorado's natural beauty and an array of nearby activities to suit every taste. Your escape to this remarkable destination will leave you rejuvenated and inspired, surrounded by the wonders of the Placerville and Telluride area.

A note from the owner:
Cathy and Mike Cusack are a retired professional couple, who have built their sixth house, now, their retirement house, immediately along the San Miguel River, in its spectacular canyon just 8.9 miles or 12 minutes drive from Telluride, Colorado.

We have been coming and vacationing here for 35 years, because we found this area to feature all the sights and recreational activities that we ever wanted to experience in life. We bought 11 acres 32 years ago, then an adjoining lot soon thereafter. In 1998 - 2000, we both worked at the Telluride Ski Resort. During this time, we built our fifth home on the smaller, now neighboring property, then moved away again to enjoy professional, more lucrative employment for a few more years.

In 2016, we moved here, lived in our motor home, and built our present, final home. It incorporates all of the features that we love in a home and that we had experienced in others. We have an antique Roman flee market door knocker, an office and mantle paneled with wood we harvested from Cathy’s parents’ black walnut tree, an antique 1886 Burwick regulation pool table, nine foot high ceilings with eight foot tall doors, recirculating hot water, auto ON/OFF light switches, Soft water, Reverse Osmosis drinking water, forced gas heat, river canyon cooled air for AC, and much, much more. We also have a very frequently-used bird/squirrel/chipmunk/raccoon feeder to watch if you’re ever bored here with nothing else to do.
