Description

The Cottage In Moonlight Bay is a grand and charming Maine cottage on nationally famous Cobbossee Lake, located in Winthrop and Manchester, Maine.

Cobbossee Lake is known for great bass fishing, swimming and boating, with many wonderful islands to explore. Charming and vintage 7 bedroom cottage has a full kitchen and dining room, 2 bathrooms (1 up and one down), a large living room with fireplace, and great wrap around porch facing the lake. Great views down the lake and the southern exposure means sun most of the day!

This lovely historical 7 bedroom cottage is located on the shore of Cobbossee Lake, just 4 miles west of Maine's capitol city Augusta, and the Interstate Highway system. An area of great boating, fishing, swimming, and related activities.

There is a separate formal dining room, and large dining table also on the glassed in porch, for lake view dining or just for overflow. The formal dining room, next to kitchen, has a very nice butlers pantry, and very spacious high ceilings throughout.

Our home is a great place to relax. Enjoy the 9 mile-long lake with public islands for day trips and picnics. Power boats and party barges are also locally available for day or weekly rental.

Journey out to the famous lighthouse built in 1908, and which has been totally restored and lights up each night, all seen from this cottage. The Cottage In Moonlight Bay is one of the last remaining old cottages, owned by the same family since very early 1900's, on Moonlight Bay.

A fisherman's delight, Cobbossee Lake, is one of central Maine’s largest lakes and is noted for its outstanding small mouth and large mouth bass fishing. Many of the state’s largest bass have come from this lake and it is considered one of the best bass lakes in the Northeast. Lakeside is the perfect base for your Maine fishing vacation – in open water or ice fishing season.

Also, the cottage is situated close to State of Maine museum, theaters, Library, Historic Hallowell on the Kennebec River, and several very large shopping malls, with all the favorite stores.

Just a mere 45 minute drive to the Maine Coast, either Boothbay Harbor, or Camden Harbor.

Given the central location one can easily travel, easterly to the coast or westerly to the mountains, all within an hour drive.
