Description

Passy Trocadero

LOCATION
The apartment is in the fashionable and beautiful 16th arrondissement, an area of elegant boulevards, stylish boutiques, and bustling neighborhood centers. Broad, tree-lined streets give you more breathing room than in the crowded and noisy tourist districts, yet nearby buses and Métro offer quick and easy access to all of Paris. If you feel like strolling, the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysées, Arc de Triomphe, Musée Marmottan, and Bois de Boulogne, are all within easy walking distance.

NEIGHBORHOOD
The apartment is just steps from the colorful neighborhood center. Virtually all services and conveniences are within 1-2 minutes: supermarkets, bakeries, cheese and wine shops, ATMs, florists, hair salons, dry cleaners, pharmacies, cafés, brasseries, restaurants and much more.

APARTMENT
The apartment, an elegant duplex in an art deco building on a gated, private street, is rare for Paris in that you enter directly from the sidewalk—like a townhouse. You can come and go without having to punch in lobby door codes, switch on lights, squeeze into miniature elevators, or walk down long corridors. Having your own private entrance on a tiny street with no through pedestrian or automobile traffic creates a feeling of sanctuary, security, and privacy. At the same time, you can get to the corner bakery in 60 seconds—a great benefit for those seeking warm, fresh croissants for breakfast.

The entrance, through a dramatic, two-story-high, arched glass window, leads to the first floor with its lofty double-height living room, dining room, gourmet kitchen and half bath. A sweeping stairway ascends to the second floor with the primary bedroom, modern bathroom with oversized tub and separate shower stall, and study-entertainment center overlooking the living room.

The fully-equipped kitchen contains everything you'll need to prepare gourmet meals or simple snacks. Large appliances include a full-size refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher, combination washer/dryer, and state-of-the-art Siemens oven and induction cook-top. Small appliances include a microwave, toaster, blender, coffee grinder, electric kettle, espresso maker, drip coffeemaker, and Nespresso capsule machine.

The primary bedroom features a comfortable queen-size bed with a firm mattress. We are happy to make up the bed with a pillow-top surmatelas if you prefer a softer sleeping surface. For warmer months, we install a European-style air conditioner that sits in the bedroom and is elegantly vented through a cut-out in the insulated window. This unit, along with a second in the living room, keeps the apartment cool and comfortable during any hot spells.

The primary bathroom can be accessed without going through the bedroom, so downstairs guests can use it without disturbing upstairs guests. The half bath on the first floor contains a sink and toilet.

The study is "command central" for the apartment, with its WiFi modem, flat-screen television, answering machine, CD player/iPod dock, and printer. Cable service provides hundreds of channels including premium movie channels (often in English), Turner Classic Movies, Sundance, BBC, CNN, Bloomberg, CNBC and many more. All local calls are free, as well as international calls to landlines in over 100 countries (cell phones, too, in the United States and Canada).

My English-speaking housekeeper/property manager is available by phone, text, and email to help you with any issues or questions. Prior to arrival, you'll receive visitor packets that include contact information, detailed material on finding and settling into the apartment; neighborhood shops and services; favorite walks and sights; tourist tips; airport transportation options; bus and metro advice; and my guide to restaurants within walking distance of the apartment, as well as some favorites elsewhere in the city.

My apartment and I are proud and privileged to have received hundreds of glowing reviews over the years. Submitted to various websites, every review ever written has been "five stars," leading to my apartment having a swelled head and having been ranked #1 out of 7,000+ apartments on one of the top vacation rental sites.

I think you’ll enjoy the superior level of furnishings, art and "objects," as well as many hundreds of CD's; travel guides; books on art deco architecture, design, painting, and decorative arts; and every imaginable aspect of Paris history and culture.

"Chez Moi," you can act like a tourist, but live like a Parisian!

Fabulous stay

Alex, thank you for the most enjoyable stay, during the Paris fashion week! Your home is wonderful in every way and the attention to detail, from the equipment in the apartment to the helpful information packs that you emailed prior to our arrival made us feel so comfortable and welcome. And a massive thank you to Wilson too, for going above and beyond what we expected, to make our stay extra special and memorable.”

Special Townhouse in the Heart of Paris!!!

We were lucky enough to be able to stay at Passy Trocadero townhouse in Paris. A very well appointed home with an extensive library including a collection of (I'm guessing) almost every book written about Paris. The location can't be beat with bistro's, bakery, wine shop, pharmacy, shopping, grocery, beauty salons, parks and even the Eiffel Tower within easy walking distance. There was wine, cheese, bread and even pastries for the children when we arrived. Would not hesitate to stay again if given the opportunity! Thanks again Alex for a wonderful stay! ”
