Perfect Weekend stay in Nantahala and timed just right for Fall Colors!
We had a perfect stay at Mystic Forest! Becky and Jim are fabulous hosts and made us feel genuinely welcome in their lovely property. Becky made sure to check on us once we got in as well, which certainly made us feel that much more at home! The home is truly on its own mountaintop with some of the more incredible views I've seen in the Carolina mountains. It certainly didn't hurt that we timed the fall colors just right -- the forests and mountaintops were aglow our entire stay. The home is extremely private, so it truly felt like our own oasis for the weekend. The hiking and fishing nearby is great and in abundance. It's not close to anything, in a good way! So, just be sure to stock up on the drive in and you'll be fine. The home is beautifully decorated with plenty of space to spread out and relax. The kitchen is set up very well with ample prep space and everything you need. Perfect retreat to the western Carolina mountains! ”
The house & location were just perfect for our trip to the Smoky Mountains. Jim & Becky were great hosts & I enjoyed communicating with them before, during & after our stay. The house was beautiful & I enjoyed the décor as well as the views. We ended up limiting the amount of sightseeing so we stay & enjoy the house more. I felt I was staying in a very large & unique treehouse, the way the house was incorporated into nature. It was comfortable & provided everything we needed for our stay. ”
Beautiful home with stunning view
What a wonderful week at Mystic Forest! This is a beautiful, comfortable home with incredible, ever changing views. Although Natahala offers whitewater rafting, hiking, fishing, etc. our favorite pastime was sitting on the deck every evening in front of the fire watching the clouds and mist move across the sky, listening to the whippoorwills. Cocktails optional! Jim and Becky are gracious and thoughtful hosts and have equipped their home well. Kitchen is well stocked and as someone who loves to cook, it was a pleasure. We miss it already. -Jen and Joel Glasco”
Our family had a fantastic time at Mystic Forrest. The house and views were spectacular! The house was very comfortable with plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the gourmet amenities to satisfy my Chef son. Dinners were very pleasant on the outdoor deck with fireplace and cooler temps. We loved white water rafting on the Nantahala river with the Nantahala Outdoor Center which is very close by. My sons and grand children also enjoyed fishing in the nearby pond for cat fish and renting a boat on the the Nantahala lake. Fun was had by all. We would highly recommend it. ”
home was outstanding. location superb. only negative was the constant rain for a week straight. definitely would go back again.”
