December 2025ELK MOUNTAIN RETREAT
As a real estate agent, I always make it a point to personally experience accommodations before recommending them to my discerning clientele. I discovered 3rd Home through my broker and their rigorous process aligns perfectly with the elevated standards I uphold for my clients. The platform's ease of use for both homeowners listing properties and users booking stays is impressive, with clear communication throughout and an intuitive website that makes the entire process seamless. We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely mountain home in Asheville, NC, over Christmas, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. Tucked away on one of the area's scenic switchback roads surrounded by breathtaking views, stunning sunsets, and occasional wildlife sightings. The location offered the perfect blend of seclusion and convenience. It was just a short drive to downtown Asheville and nearby activities, yet felt worlds away in its peaceful, forested setting. The home itself was impeccably clean, welcoming, and equipped with everything we needed (and more) for a comfortable holiday getaway. With plenty of room for our group, cozy furnishings, and thoughtful amenities, it truly felt like a home away from home. We especially appreciated that it was pet-friendly, allowing our furry family members to join in the fun. Mornings were spent sipping coffee on the deck, soaking in the views, while evenings brought magical sunsets and a memorable Christmas Eve soak in the hot tub under the chilly stars. The owner was incredibly responsive to our questions, ensuring a stress-free stay from start to finish. If you're seeking a scenic, serene retreat in the mountains with all the comforts of home living, this property is an absolute gem. I'd confidently refer it to any of my clients looking for a mountain home Asheville experience. Heather Hardy Coastal Properties Group International Dunedin FL ”

June 2025Wonderful mountain vacation home
We enjoyed our stay! The drive up the mountain doesn’t take long from the main road with restaurants, groceries, and drug stores. The drive into Asheville takes about 15 minutes. The home is well maintained, with comfortable furniture, and a well- appointed kitchen with extras like spices. The deck is lovely with a view of forest (not the mountains) and we grilled and ate outside more than once (and saw a bear running through the woods!). It is very quiet except for the occasional driver coming up the road. The owners have thoughtfully considered the needs of travelers, by providing toys, games and puzzles (and a step stool) for kids and pet extras (which we didn’t need) . July 4th celebration in Weaverville (charming little town about 20 mins away) was perfect for the little grandkids. Although we didn’t have any issues during our stay, the owner was responsive quickly when contacted. I would highly recommend this house.”
