November 2024Enjoyable but not Luxury
My wife and I had a great time staying at the Farm Cottage in Paradise. The hosts were fantastic—very communicative and helpful. The home has clearly been recently renovated, though it still retains some older features like creaky floors and a small bathroom. As a couple in our early 30s, we didn’t mind working around these quirks. Our only significant concern was the mold in the refrigerator door seal, which didn’t seem very safe. While we understand the challenges of managing mold in a tropical environment, it appeared to have been overlooked for some time. Additionally, being in a rural location, encountering ants and bugs is to be expected, but it’s something to keep in mind. Parking on the grass was fun and different, and we’d recommend renting a 4x4 vehicle for easier access—our Jeep handled it perfectly. Overall, we had a good experience, though we’ll likely explore other options next time we visit the island. It’s more a matter of personal preference than anything else. That said, we’d still recommend the Farm Cottage to anyone seeking a remote and authentic Hawaiian getaway.”
