Amazing Vacation!!!

We love Cancun and have traveled there several times. This was our first experience with Ava, and what a treat. The ocean view from both the bedroom and family room was breathtaking. The food was so good. There was such a variety of restaurants!! We spent many hours at the sparkling pool. I highly recommend this resort.”

Nice All Inclusive with a few Caveats

Ava is a huge resort with great service, good food, plenty of drinks and pools to enjoy yourself at. The beach is terrible so if you're looking for a beach vacation, this isn't the place for you. They are also selling a "membership" as opposed to a timeshare which was interesting to see. The membership allows for premium drinks, cabanas, one of the pools, etc. which the Thirdhome tier doesn't receive. That was actually my least favorite part of the trip in how it almost sets up a class system within the resort. Other than the membership and their sales pitch, we enjoyed the resort and used it as a jumping off point to explore some other areas of Cancun. Would recommend for a group that isn't concerned about having a really nice beach and wants to enjoy an all-inclusive resort with good food and nice amenities. ”

Ritz Carlton of ALL INCLUSIVE RESORTS!

Let me start off by saying “ I am not a big fan of all-inclusive resorts”. This hotel blew us away. It a well oiled machine of luxury. Food was really really good! The French restaurant was our favorite (hint try the Beef Wellington) The resort has 1600 rooms that all are oceanfront…but never seemed crowded. The resort from end to end measures approximately 1 mile, So you will get your steps in! The spa was amazing and highly recommend the Hydro therapy. Another big plus is that is so close to the airport. from airport to hotel 10 minutes. I highly recommend AVA! ”

Overall fantastic!

This resort is new and is only at about 30% capacity so not all of the restaurants and activities are open yet, but for us as a couple, it was perfect. The food was some of the best we have had at an all-inclusive, and the poolside service was excellent. Love that they have lunch service at the pool so you don't have to leave to go eat. The steak burritos and the chicken quesadillas were fantastic! So good that we had the same thing every day! The staff was wonderful and accommodating. It is a huge resort, so there is a lot of walking, which we didn't mind. The spa was fantastic! The gym was amazing! It was huge, air-conditioned, and had all brand new equipment! The pools are beautiful. We are more pool people so that worked for us. If you are looking for a great beach, this is not it. Lots of seaweed and not the clear blue water you see other places in Cancun. It was fine for walking in the mornings, but not for swimming. There are beach chairs out there but very few people use them. We gave it a 4 star versus 5 just because some little things could be better, like having only one outlet in the whole bathroom and there being a whistle sound that blows through the sliding door when it is windy. It can sound like a hurricane at night. It must just be the design of the building because we heard other guests say the same. This is right next to the airport, so flights go overhead a lot of the day, but that did not bother us. Just an FYI if that is not something you would like. This would be a really fun place to take a family! We would definitely go back again someday!!”
