January 2025Amazing.
Casa Nobile is just so COOL! The manager/concierge told us the house was built in the 12th century (WOW!) and yes, it does seem old. But the property has been beautifully and lovingly restored, renovated and decorated so that the old and the new are compatible and comfortable and ever so enjoyable. The house is located in the tiny and quaint village of Castlemuzio, which is of the same vintage as the house and is situated on a hilltop with gorgeous views all around. The village is home to a little co-op market that sells locally produced food and I can testify to incredible bread, cheese and cookies. Casa Nobile is a bit of a drive from the closest major points of entry, Rome and Florence, but it’s an easy and scenic drive and the location is perfect to explore this less-traveled but very interesting and beautiful part of Tuscany. One consideration when you travel to Castlemuzio: This area is seasonal and many businesses/restaurants in the small towns were closed during our January visit. The scenery is somewhat gray and we were unable to make use of the lovely garden area at Casa Nobile. We would LOVE to go to this area again and would LOVE to stay at Casa Nobile again, however we would choose a different season even though it might be more crowded and no doubt more expensive. Mark, the owner of Casa Nobile, and Paola, the concierge, could not have been more helpful or more responsive. The photographs in the gallery are representative of the real experience: You won’t walk in and be disappointed. Casa Nobile is a five-star property in every regard. Nancy and Walt Byers”
