Great ocean front location and friendly service staff. Fine accommodation, but plunge pool in our room was not operating. We were not notified of this problem at check in. When we contacted resort about this, they said they would not be fixing it. We were forced to pay expensive all inclusive charges of $235/person/day. We were told this would be reduced to $191/day, if we paid in advance, but this is a SCAM! GBS made it impossible to pay in advance. Resort has only three restaurant choices, with limited menus and the quality of food was very poor. Two of these restaurants are outdoors, so are not accessible if poor weather. The inclusive plan included only mediocre house wines, other choices were available for additional cost. We were also harassed to attend a time share presentation during our stay. This made us uncomfortable. Overall, disappointing … we will never stay at Casa Del Mar Resort again. ”

February 2022Beautiful Resort
We stayed here in Feb 2022, I returned and a family emergency prevented me from writing this review at the time, I'm finally just now doing this review. The resort is beautiful and very well landscaped. The unit was fine, a 3 bedroom is actually a 2 bedroom unit sharing the same entrance with a Studio unit. The pool on the deck was not working and we found out that many of them are not working. That was a disappointment considering that is one of the reason we chose this resort. The staff at the main Resort pool was great and we had fun hanging out there. We also hung out at the "owner's pool" which didn't have a staff or bar but we were able to take our own snacks and drinks. Our biggest issue was related to our arrival - the Resort is not aware/informed of the Thirdhome reservations and the guard at the owner's area was not letting us through because, although I had the printout of the reservation, I didn't have the name of the unit or owner (Royal Villa is not a name of a unit). Being a weekend, we didn't get through to Thirdhome or our rep. If it had not been for the insistence of our driver to let us through to drive around, we would not have gotten in that night. And even then, the "office" is not really an office, it is a desk set up in an alcove with no obvious sign that we should check in there. They had the same problem with our reservation - no name of the unit or owner. They assured us that we had a unit, they just didn't know which one and so our driver finally felt comfortable leaving us there. Be aware.”
