Description

The Gate Lodge

The magic begins when you arrive at this charming retreat, where two curious alpacas and a group of friendly donkeys offer a warm welcome. Lovingly restored, The Lodge is a rustic yet luxurious escape designed to accommodate 2-3 guests. Thoughtful textures and materials fill the space, from Foxford throws and cushions to old-style slate floors, creating an inviting and comfortable atmosphere.

The living area is bathed in natural light, showcasing breathtaking views over White Strand Bay and unforgettable sunsets. A solid-fuel stove awaits to warm the cooler evenings, especially after an invigorating seaweed bath or a quick plunge under the outdoor bucket shower. The kitchen balances character and functionality with dark wood-stained cabinets, vintage serving plates, and open shelving that complement the off-white walls.

The bedroom is simple, cosy, and perfect for restful nights, featuring a queen-size iron bed layered with soft, muted blankets and heavy curtains to ensure a peaceful lie-in. For additional guests, the living room's sofa converts into a comfortable 90 cm (35 in) bed, ideal for a third person.

Every detail has been considered to enhance your stay. Outside, a well-equipped boot room with wellies awaits for exploring on damp days, while the hen den offers fresh free-range eggs to start your mornings right. As evening falls, gather around the outdoor pizza oven to create your homemade pizzas, enjoying the tranquil surroundings and coastal views.

Whether seeking relaxation, adventure, or a romantic getaway, this thoughtfully designed lodge offers an enchanting and memorable escape.
