August 2025Beautiful villa at center of a non-touristy town
were very pleasantly surprised by the size and features of the house, like having a large back courtyard with fountain in the middle of the town. Loved the interior as well; high ceilings, large rooms. Appreciated the quality of the bedroom and bathroom linens. Felt like we were locals, staying in a small non-tourist town. Visited at the height of summer in August. Attended some of the feast celebrations nearby. Town is very convenient - within an hour or two drive to many tourist attractions as well. ”

August 2025Charming home in Portugal
This home about forty-five minutes from downtown Lisbon in the small town of Benavente is a perfect getaway for any family interested in enjoying the many splendors of Portugal. The home is historic, with a beautiful central entrance and a rear courtyard area with lemon tress and a pomegranate tree surrounding a central running fountain. Comfortable seating around the fountain makes it a perfect area to have coffee in the mornings or leisurely relax and read a book and enjoy a home-cooked meal. There were four of us, and each had our own bedroom; two had bathrooms as well. There are all the amenities that one would need: washer/dryer, wireless internet, cooking facilities,, and readily available street parking for your automobile. There are also several cafes and shopping areas nearby for any sundry items you may need. This was my first time in Portugal, and I wanted to see it all. Luckily, the home is central, so all areas of the country are accessible by car within a day’s drive. We went to Porto, Lagos, Sintra, Évora, Cascais, and Tomar- all within a few hours striking distance from Benavente. In summary, I recommend this home for anyone interested in loving this country and desiring to stay in a historic home. We had a magnificent time here and would come back here on our next journey to Portugal as well.”
