Family Vacation

Our family of four had a fabulous stay at Grand Luxxe at Vidanta Riviera Maya—it’s truly a unique, immersive resort experience. One absolute highlight was Joya Cirque du Soleil—a must-see and such a fun, memorable evening. We also loved Jungala Aqua Experience, which struck the perfect balance between relaxing and entertaining (we had two complimentary visits with our stay, which was a great perk). Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We stayed on the first floor, which was convenient but quite dark due to the lush jungle surroundings—if you prefer more natural light, a higher floor would definitely be a better choice. The dining across the resort was excellent. The Salum area is especially fun, offering a variety of restaurants and a great atmosphere for a casual evening out. We also enjoyed breakfast at Del Lago and had an outstanding dinner at Quinto—the “steak on fire” presentation was both impressive and delicious. We spent most of our time at the Grand Luxxe Beach Club, which we absolutely loved. It’s exclusive to Grand Luxxe guests and a couple of other properties, so it never felt overcrowded. One thing to note—the resort is expansive, and getting around via the winding jungle pathways is an adventure in itself. Honestly, we enjoyed it so much that we never even felt the need to leave the property. Overall, it’s a fantastic destination for families looking for a mix of relaxation, great food, and unique experiences all in one place.”

Great place for a relaxing vacation

While an orientation to what restaurants are open each night, (most are only open 2 nights a week and if you don’t plan ahead you are stuck with the glorified food court where service and food is not great), and what day the water park is closed would have been extremely helpful, the place is great. The unit could use some updates on flooring but all else was lovely and the staff is gracious and helpful. Go to the water park and definitely the Italian restaurant. ”

first visit to Vidanta

Absolutely beautiful Caribbean property. Great pools and entertainment venues. Most of the food was basic bar-type menus, except for the Cirqe de Sole dinner. Probably the best we've had in years!!!!! The room we stayed in was excellent, as was the maid service. This is a very large property; however, the wood-structured walking paths through the beautiful jungle trees, flowers, and other foliage were amazing, as were the always-ready mobile transportation vehicles driven by very friendly and professional drivers. So, here is why I gave the rating a 3-star rating instead of a 5-star rating. This is obviously a very high-end resort. Given the cost of staying here, we felt certain amenities should be included without additional charges, such as coffee and bottled water in the room. There was an additional price tag on both. Here was the big one for us. From the moment we entered the retreat, we were bombarded with pressure to purchase shares as long-term residents. It was almost demanded that we attend an information meeting the very next morning, before we even got to our room. We wanted to at least have a look around the property so we knew what we were in for, and opted to attend a meeting after at least one day to settle in. The meeting ended up being a bit more than half a day long, and we were approached by four salespeople with offers until we finally said, "Absolutely NO." Our mistake was not saying absolutely no from the very beginning. As I said earlier, aside from the time wasted and the pressure, I would give the property a five-star rating. ”
