North Captiva, Florida
This lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bath custom built cottage is your fantastic getaway! The charming home is well secluded from crowds, cars, and the noise of the city.
Miles of picture perfect beaches awaits those willing to arrive to this great location by a 30 minute private ferry, private boat charter, or small aircraft to get to North Captiva. No mainland access has kept development in check, and 1/2 of the island is a state park.

Enjoyable time at the Beach
The cottage was really cute and well-stocked. It would have been nice to have a real shower in the bedroom with twins as there was an antique tub with sprayer but no curtain to contain the water so we had to share the shower in the master bedroom. Some of the furniture is a little tired but I guess fine for a beach house. The customer service at the Island Club at N. Captiva could be improved as it was hard to reach anyone when calling for information-sometimes the phone would just ring and ring. The house is a good location with easy walking to the beach. A gas grill would be a nice addition and much easier than the charcoal grill. Overall we had a nice stay!”
Tranquil semi-tropical experience, quality home
The island experience is unique. The solitude is great, absence of sound of motor vehicles is addictive. The flip side of this coin is the need to prepare for a degree of isolation: logistics of travel and food is important due to the meager options on this island. Only a couple hundred people on the island at a time, not enough to support much service. Our experience with internet/cell was it is spotty, so prepare to enjoy the island and leave work at home, or this may not be your best choice. Both the owner and previous guests have fairly described the home. If you take the whole island experience, 5 stars, If one were to stay indoors the whole visit, I would point out that the owner estimates the foot print of the home to be 1200 sq ft, and despite the high ceilings that make the feel more roomy, I feel the living area is practically limited to three seats. Perfect for a couple, and well equiped for two adults and two kids. Almost the entire view from the home, is nature, and only sound is birds and surf in the distance. Beaches, particularly on south part of the island are truly beautiful and virtually empty. In order to rate five stars, it must pass my “would you come back” test, which it does. ”

The house was clean, kitchen good, beds fine. Small dining and living space. No comfortable chairs so we could sit outside on the deck. Rented a boat for a day which was fun. Good beaches. Nice pool. ”
Perfect Downtime, Unplug and relax
Just back from Calliope Cottage and a week of laid back Island living. 20 minute boat ride brings you and all your groceries to this beautiful, immaculate and well equipped little cottage just a short walk to a sugar sand beach. No cars, only golf carts or bikes to get around. We enjoyed the club pool, local restaurants, and pristine beaches. Rented a boat for the day and went to Cabbage Island, Cayo Costa and Captiva. Saw dolphins, manatees, alligators, sting rays leaping out of the sea and local tortoises. The owners were most helpful in instructing us about the logistics of getting to the island and provisioning. The club is a fine oiled machine for the delivery of luggage and groceries. Thanks again for a great week. We had a great time. ”
Heaven on Earth
We had no idea what we oasis we had in store for us when we booked this North Captiva Island escape. Firs top all, my brothers and mother and I went for our Christmas break. We brought a dog. This island is dog friendly, safe, and barely touched. No cars allowed. Fishing heaven. And just enough amnesties to keep you happy. Golf carts and a general store. Free tennis courts, bike rentals, kayak rentals, ferries all day over to the mainland (Pine Island). Plus an airstrip for private planes to land. HEAVEN. We will be back!”
Very nice stay”
