June 2026Bucktown in Chicago
This house was great in many respects , but very disappointing in other ways. The house was in a good location and in very good shape for an old home. The owners were very communicative and outfitted the house nicely. The negatives were huge though. The 2 bedrooms were both upstairs without a bathroom on that level. We had to navigate down 16 winding stairs each time. Even more challenging is that we had to constantly duck our heads because of very low ceilings on the upper level. The house is OK for younger people but was challenging for us. Most disappointing is that we were never told of these deficiencies before booking.”

June 2026Chicago Birthday Week Celebration
My birthday week in Chicago was absolutely amazing. Our son is a chef with Lettuce Entertain You, which gave us the perfect opportunity to experience several incredible restaurants under their umbrella, including Ema in Glenview, Crying Tiger, 3 Dots and a Dash, and Gus’ Sip & Dip, just to name a few. Every meal was outstanding. We also had the chance to play golf at Harborside International, one of the top public golf courses in the Chicago area. It is a links-style course that can be challenging if you miss the fairway. As for our accommodations, our stay in Bucktown was the perfect home base for getting around the city. The hosts were very hospitable and even welcomed us with a thoughtful gift: a nice bottle of Chardonnay, my wife’s favorite, along with a variety of K-Cups to choose from. The home was clean, comfortable, and relaxing. If you enjoy spending time in the city, I highly recommend considering this location.”
